UPDATE: Gave this place a second chance and now I'm 1000% convinced it just sucks. We ordered 2 sandwiches on traditional bagels and the side of taters. We got handed the bag, checked, saw that there were no taters in there so we stayed at the drive-thru window and asked them to give us the taters they forgot. They had the audacity to ask us to show them that the taters are really not in the bag. Like we're trying to scam them out of a $2 menu item??? Of course we weren't lying so they (very reluctantly) ended up giving us the taters that we paid for, but this experience was already SO off-putting I was almost not even surprisen when we started eating and realized they got our order wrong AGAIN: we did not get the traditional bagels, but the softies, even though we specified that wasn't what we wanted. I'm done giving them chances because they straight-up offended me with the whole tater situation. If you want good bagels and good service, go ANYWHERE ELSE.

I wanted to love this place, I really did. So much so that I even kept trying to try it after they were sold out by 9:30 am the first three times I tried going. When I finally managed to snag some bagels, I was really excited. Got some sandwiches, got some traditional bagels, got some softies AND got some cream cheese. And unfortunately, I was disappointed. First of all, they got my order wrong. Never got the egg I asked for on one of the sandwiches and got the wrong veggies too. Second, the eggs on the other sandwich were wildly undercooked - they were runny, kinda icky and made the whole sandwich soggy. Lastly, although this is more of a personal preference sort of thing I guess, their bagels just don't live up to the hype. They're fine, they're just not "wake-up-at-6-am-to-get-one" good. I hope they will improve - I'd really love the bagel shop closest to me to be the best...

Tl;dr: Baltik's Bagel Catering is prompt and professional, delivering delicious food and strong coffee with a smile.

Last week, CultureWorks hosted a half-day Arts and Culture Summit at Studio Two Three. We needed breakfast catering for around 120-150 attendees, and Baltik's delivered in every way possible. My questions regarding what would be provided (creamer, hot cups, lids, bagel choice, etc.) were answered promptly and kindly. The order went through and was confirmed quickly by the owner, along with the delivery time and instructions. On the day of the event, the delivery arrived right on time and was set up and organized on our table by Baltik's. Our team did not have to lift a finger! Before leaving, Baltik's confirmed the table layout with our team, making sure that everyone knew which was what and what was where. As people trickled in for the event, they were so impressed with the spread: bagels, cream cheeses, lox, coffee, tea, and packs of tiny gummi bears. The Summit went well, and a large part of that is due to Baltik's Catering, creating a welcoming atmosphere that brightened our spirits while filling our bellies on a chilly fall morning. Thanks for helping to make our event a great...

Overall, I think this may soon be the best bagel spot in RVA but I’ll share my reason for 4 out of 5 stars below

Taste - 4/5 To me the most important thing and is weighted higher than everything else, hence the overall rating being a 4.

If you see this please please please consider adding more toppings to your bagels. The taste of the bagel itself is awesome but on the Everything and Sesame bagels I had, there weren’t enough toppings to really taste it.

Texture - 5/5 Kettle-boiled any other method of making bagels IMO. The inside is soft and doughy, while the outside is nice and chewy with a malty crust. My biggest complaint with other bagel places in the area is that it feels like you are just eating generic bread…. This place ISN’T that.

Freshness - 5/5 I could tell the bagel I got was made that day and what’s even better, the extra I had wasn’t stale by the following day and felt basically the same.

Bonus Point for delicious cream cheese though.

All that being said, it’s a great addition to the area and I will absolutely be coming back and will 100% change my review if they up the...

We live about 7 minutes away from Baltik’s and honestly feel a little ashamed we avoided the hype for so long (we watched the construction). After finally trying them this past week, we totally get it everything was absolutely amazing. The staff was super friendly, the food came out quick, and every item hit perfectly. We ordered a little bit of everything: the River City Sunrise, a plain bagel with cream cheese, an apple bagel with sweet cream cheese, the taters, and the Pizzanom Nom. The pizza and plain bagel stood out the most to me. Just absolutely delicious. What made this visit extra special right after placing our order, we found out that Francine had just been found! Everyone was so happy and excited. It was one of those small but really great community moments you don’t get at a chain that just made the morning even better.

Yum!! Recommend pick up or drive thru, do not recommend dining in due to limited space. They mean it when they say a softie bagel— it was perfect because it prevented sandwich fillings from falling out. The sandwiches were so yummy and exactly what we needed before tackling grocery shopping. Heads up: The lemonade/limeades are more on the tart side, and the scrambled eggs are softer, a little wet (which I prefer but I know others may not), but were definitely cooked all the way through. The staff was very helpful with deciding on menu items and our order was out fairly quick despite the line. Went a few weeks back and will be back again soon!!
