Didn't care for the coffee or the service. I was asked if I work in healthcare to get a discount and I responded Pharmacy to which I was told isn't included as healthcare. To be clear, I didn't ask for or expect a discount but that was not only inaccurate (pharmacy is a part of healthcare because where else do you get your medicine) but rude. I was very excited for this place to open so what a let down. It was done nicely inside and was a place I intended to frequent. We will not be returning. If I had a coffee shop my response as the owner (bc the owner was asked and stated this) would be to give it. I would have given the discount to prevent the awkwardness that followed because I would never ask for that discount upon returning. Again, I did not ask for the discount because I wasn't aware there was one. But to be asked then be told you aren't considered a part of healthcare when everyone else does is rude. The awkwardness that ensued was so palpable I quickly said "We don't matter in Pharmacy" and then laughed. And what was the discount? 10 percent probably? I still left a tip even though I was offended because it wasn't anything the person at the register did. As I stated the coffee I got wasn't good but I would have given them another chance. But obviously I've lost any desire to return.
The point of my review is not to state that I am entitled to a discount but to point out how unwelcome I felt and embarrassed during this whole awkward situation where people could hear. Like only Doctors and Nurses are appreciated or "better" than Pharmacy. I wonder is it just Pharmacy not included in healthcare here or do we not count other parts of it too? I can't stress enough this isn't about getting a discount. This is about how it was handled and how disrespectful and embarrassing it was to me. I've spent my whole life in healthcare and this was like a slap in the face.
I also want to add I had planned up to that point to go back with a friend who had not been yet and I immediately texted them and canceled. She also works in healthcare. We will now be...
Read moreBrewtanicals Coffee House has their grand opening today (8/23)! And what a wonderful addition to Richmond and Madison Co. as a whole.
This space is so cute - warm and inviting with all of the plants, beautiful furniture, and large coffee bar. Rachel, a manager, immediately introduced herself as well. She told us all about their menu and the specials - one of which donates a portion of each drink to the humane society. How amazing is that!?
My 3 year old daughter was interested in what was happening behind the coffee bar. One of the baristas took a couple minutes to explain the process of how the espresso was made and the tools they use to make it. My daughter loved it.
Adam, the owner, saw my daughter and I seated and immediately came over to offer coloring pages and crayons. Again, a big hit.
Lastly the coffee was fantastic! I had a latte and my daughter had a hot chocolate.
We will definitely be back and are looking forward to having such an amazing addition to...

The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, the kind of place where you want to slow down and stay awhile. The owner is always here, chatting with locals, and the staff are so friendly.
My favorite drink so far is their blonde roast coffee with cream—it’s smooth, rich, and brewed just right. You can tell they really care about the quality of what they serve and the community they’re building. If you’re looking for great coffee and a place that feels like home, this...
