I love the interior..plants and flowers, wood walls and bright windows🪴🏡 But the food tastes just ok, and is so expensive bcs it’s organic etc, I just wish it tasted better. The potential is crazy here! I can cook better than most of the food I’ve had here.. You do feel really good after eating some dishes since it’s clearly carefully sourced food👍👍

The coffee is NOT WORTH IT👎 How on earth can you have such a beautiful, well thought out spot, well run, a wine, and have such mediocre pastries, cakes and really BAD coffee?🤔😑 No one I know likes it.

Much better to have fewer things done well than a bunch done badly! Like the flan isn’t flan..it’s cold hard sweet eggs😣Full stop. The lemon cheesecake is meh. The whipped cream is nice on top.

The soups get redundant if you come a lot, and are clearly bottom of the barrel cheap recipes. I mean, lentils? Really? Peasant food and not even particularly good, but $5 for 1 measuring cup🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️ The tomato meatballs are decent but I wish they were beef vs pork.

This place would be a-mazing if they leveled up their flavors, even if that meant charging a dollar more per item. Alas, it’s got a small stream of apparent regulars and drop-ins. And I still appreciate the setting. And the flower shop is happy-making!🌺✨🪻✨💐

My home away from home. I can think of no other restaurant anywhere in the world that serves everything only organic at a reasonable price. Hallelujah. It is also the only place to go and have an organic latte with cardamom syrup. If you haven’t tried it, do yourself a favor and check it out. Service can be slow, but it is almost always very friendly. You can also find at least one authentic Nepalese (Newari) dish. I would like to see more rotation of the soups and other dishes, as well as more international dishes. I also miss the sandwiches on toasted baguettes they used to make. And wood fired pizza. That pizza oven is going to waste. Wednesday evening live music is a very unique addition and they put great effort into choosing bands that are special. I wish the sugar cookies had a bit of almond, lemon, or vanilla flavor to make them more special. They have fresh juices, sweets, ice cream, alcohol, burritos, soups, breakfast, dinner, and the best salad...

Excellent prepared food bars with hot food, sandwiches, pizza, smoothies, coffee bar, salad bar, etc. Gluten free options are well marked (as well as dairy free, vegetarian, vegan). There is a separate, equally sized counter around the corner for vegetarian prepared hot foods and cold salads. They have gluten free bread for sandwiches, and gluten free lasagna. Also almost everything is organic, and very reasonably priced. In addition to the food selection, there is a great wine and beer shop area, as well as a beautiful floral selection (though the flowers are a bit pricey compared to other supermarkets like Berkeley Bowl or Trader Joe's, but then again the Annex has a much nicer and higher end selection). Also their greeting cards from local artisans on the stand near the food cash register is fantastic - perfect place to get flowers, wine and a card in one stop - or to just get a fast and reasonably priced organic hot meal.
