I walked into Hi Tech Car Audio Before during the last midnight madness sale. Its a local stereo shop and I was under the impression that I would be getting some decent components for a reasonable price, especially since it was midnight madness. Long story short I was just taken back when they quoted me 1900.00 for a double din media deck for four speakers with installation. From the reviews I understood that this shop was legit however, the price tag is not reasonable and seems it fluctuates depending on who the customer is. I just left. 6 months later I decided to cut-down on the price and order all the components from Crutch Field to mitigate the cost of the merchandise and save a little bit of money, I ordered the installation kit and everything needed for the installation . Called Hi Tech and the gentleman quoted me 250.00 for the installation for a double din receiver and a set of 6.5 I brought the truck in and spoke with two gentleman who knew I was coming. I was happy with the price point at this time and thought it very reasonable since I purchased everything else separately, so I inquired about getting one more set of 6.5" speakers for the rear to complete the installation. This was a mistake. Since I wanted one more set of speakers from Hi Tec, the salesman jumps up the price from 250.00 for installation to 650.00 90.00 for the set of speakers and 350 for the installation. At that time I just wanted it installed and installed correctly with no issues. The salesman notifies me that they will call me when it is done. I decided to stick around and watch the install my-self from the side of the store looking into the garage. The Installer was taking his time man doing the install, he takes an hour and half lunch and at one point I see that my truck wasn't even being worked on for a good hour while he was back on the job. Normally I wouldn't be observing the work, but for 650.00 for a stereo install and two sets of speakers I want to see what the heck is going on for that price tag. Let me add that an hour after I left that morning I came back the salesman acted like he didn't even know who I was. Then he starts to act coy and says oh your that guy that has the amp install. Which had nothing to do with me. Mind you it was not at all busy. Man the service here was plain down right almost disrespectful. The culture of this shop reflects the culture problem in the bay area. Everybody trying to squeeze every nickel and dime out of you anyway they can. This place makes me sick to my stomach, the salesman there I don't know what decisions they make when deciding who to hire. maybe they just hire who they...
Read moreI first went to Hi-Tech Car Audio as a novice wanting to upgrade my sports car. Jim and John took the time to personally introduce me to a variety of options, ranging from low to high-end products. I quickly learned that I was very picky with the sound in my car. While most shops get annoyed when someone is confused, they switched countless amp, speaker, and subwoofer combinations until I was satisfied.
If you are looking for a deal or the best bang for your buck, wait for their special sales. I shopped during the midnight madness sale which helped me save thousands, but Will was able to hook it up even further! Will presents the shop to the highest level of professionalism and customer service. He always acknowledged me by name, making me feel welcomed and respected. He was ALWAYS accommodating as he price matched offers and met my needs to the best of his ability. TIP: If you are honest about your situation I bet they will do everything to make it work.
I ended up requesting a custom trunk which Warren had to fabricate by hand and fit to the exact dimensions of my car. The ease of communication was like no other. I was able to directly message Warren details and inspiration photos. Warren was up for the challenge even though I already had air suspension in the car. The end result was better than anything I could have ever imagined. Air tubes, harnesses, and wires were neatly adhered to the car. There was no rattling and the whole setup was easy enough for me to disassemble if needed. The pictures do speak for themselves, however, I wish one could see how neat everything was behind the panels.
Adalberto installed the stereo. A challenging task since the stereo was connected to the backup camera, dashcam, remote start, steering wheels control, GPS... so on. I double checked his work by removing the stereo and the wiring was CLEAN. Anthony tuned the audio to perfection, which is tough since I requested metal music. He put an option to direct music to the driver, center of the car, passenger, or towards the outside. Other individuals from the team focused on wrapping, tinting, sound deadening, and even the underglow.
Unfortunately, the car was totaled. When I let them know, I could tell that they were truly devasted... they put all of their effort, care, and passion into the car. I am planning on doing another trunk setup and I know exactly where to go: Hi-Tech Car Audio.
As you can see from my review, if you book this shop for any services, you will be working with a team and not just one person. Each individual is specialized in their craft guaranteeing...
Read moreI Highly recommend Hi-tech!! I first went to Hi-Tech back in 2007. My experience there the first time was like being a kid in a candy shop, it was amazing and though it was slightly pricey, it was also reasonable and the quality of service and goods could not be compared to anything I had ever experienced at another installation place, which I had been to before. Flash Forward 11 years, my system in my old car lasted that long because they gave me quality Equipment and quality service. I had to replace some of the tweeters and couple of mids but that was due to normal wear and tare. But all in all the system works amazing. I really appreciate Will and his ability for customer service and his undivided attention. Jim made sure I was taken care of when everybody was busy and his services were a fluid transition between all the differing people and items needed to be taken care of. I especially appreciate Shahine (I hope I spelled that correctly) for making me feel like I'm a part of the family. The reciprocity and symbiosis goes so long and so much distance and time there's no words to describe the amount of appreciation I have for this feeling of an extended family. Lastly, but certainly not least is the special attention Warren gave me some of the highest service I have ever experienced and made sure I was taken care of! Talking on several occasions to make it just right. The ironic thing was when I got the newish system put in it didn't have that kick and Warren took time to help make sure everything was right. Turns out factory settings reset and I just needed to tweek the system internally. I will always be indebted to HI-TECH for the valuable services, creating a feeling of comfort, and confidence that my car and equipment were in the right hands! And of course Azim, he is very experienced and with experience is usually coupled with wisdom. Wise and funny, Azim thank you for your insight but importantly the ability to have that humor, made me laugh and a couple days later remembering the joke laughing harder. It really feels like...
