Penn Station East Coast Subs — Restaurant in Richmond

this was the very first time we tried Penn Station. We ordered our food over the phone. We were told it would be ready in 20 minutes. When we got there (20 minutes after placing our order) they had not even started our food so we still had to wait. The raw fries were just sitting out uncovered waiting next to the fryers. Only one person wore her mask correctly and only one person handing the food wore her gloves while handling the food. The rest of the workers wore their masks incorrectly and was handling the food without gloves. One guy was handling the food, the phone, the cash register and other things around the counter without gloves, without washing his hands between and even scratched his face and nose, then went back to working with the food. We got the food home and it was not good. We spent $44.00 for wraps, fries, a sandwich, cheese bread and a soda which was flat and threw out part of our order because it was no good and certainly not worth the money! We will NOT be back! Lucky no body got sick either with the way the food was handled. The next time we decide to get sandwiches out, we will just go to McDonald's. At least they are more health conscience and treat everyone much nicer than the guy at the counter at...

Chad the “manager” answered my call. I had ordered DoorDash cus I have TWO disabled daughters one of which in a wheelchair recovering from a brain injury so I have to utilize DoorDash more so than id prefer. It’s unfortunate yes I prefer to go out and get my own food. Well I had to use DoorDash which Penn station is offered thru, every single sub was wrong. I had chicken on my ham club, onions when I clearly asked for money, no mayo, no pickles when I requested extra, fries were all old cold and just burnt to a crisp. I sw Chad and he said and I quote “I made those myself if you wanted the right food you should’ve got out yourself there’s nothing I can do for you” so not only rude, incompetent, but completely NASTY and inconsiderate! I spent way too much money for a completely wrong order and ignorant “manager” ! I won’t be back in person or DoorDash and I will share this on Richmond In local pages as well ! Even told him I had pictures and he said oh well you shouldn’t have gone thru DoorDash, HE MADE MY FOOD DoorDash was only in charge of delivery...

Every time I come in to this restaurant, the employees are busting their butts! It's always clean, counters wiped off, tables that you can actually eat at, and you can tell they actually clean their fountain nozzles (wish more places would, and yes, you CAN taste a difference)! Though it can get kinda hectic at times because everything is made fresh and customers can pile in quickly, the employees remain POLITE and focused on getting orders out as fast as they can! The subs are just amazing, the lemonade is made with love and not lemons, and the fries 🤤 The store manager is not only professional but actually cares about each of her guests and her employees. I would highly recommend this establishment, well worth the money and any wait! Do you want a fast, sloppy, burger like sandwich at a neighboring restaurant, or something that actually tastes good and is made with love? I'll take the second choice and keep going to Penn...
