The biscuits at Rise are great, but even greater are the staff working each morning. With my almost daily visits, I’ve come to love them as friends and appreciate how skilled they are at making everyone’s delicious food so efficiently.

What I look forward to most is the “good morning [HomelessHokie]!” I hear each time I walk in. The personal interaction sets me up for a wonderful day and I end up smiling and dancing down Cary St as I eat the biscuit.

I ordered the Big Breakfast Box with Grits. The protein I chose was pork sausage. I also ordered a Cheddar biscuit. The Box was really good! The grits were creamy and seasoned, as well as, the eggs (a tad salty, but bearable once mixed with the grits). The cheddar biscuit. That was a hard NO for me. It was completely tasteless. Got the hot honey butter chicken sandwich. Cold pad of butter with a cold slice of cheese on a decent chicken breast.

The service was very fast and came right out with the food, but I would have rather they take just a little bit longer to make sure the controls of the sandwich were heated.

The atmosphere of the place feels sterile and it's layout feels a little odd. Feels like the interior design caterers more to carry out than it does make comfortable dining...
