Philly Steak & Gyros — Restaurant in Richmond

First time, called in a falafel order. It was ready when I got there, presented by a friendly older man and was very tasty. When I went to repeat the experience two weeks later, I could not get through by phone after several tries, so I made an order online from their website. When I arrived, there was one table eating and two guys behind the counter, one of them waving his hands and yelling at someone on the phone. They had no idea about online orders, but reluctantly agreed to make the falafel that I had paid for. When I explained that I had ordered online because no one answered the phone, the arm-waving guy said there was no way they could answer the phone when they were so busy. I hadn't had a gyro in a long time, not since my previous favorite gyro place in the area changed their menu. I was hoping I could find a new favorite gyro place. I got the Gyro Meal deal (with fries and a drink) and when I saw them preparing my meal I was worried, it seems they don't slice it off a spit like I'm used to. Instead it seems they have uncooked, pre-sliced gyro meat that they cook on the grill the same way they would cook steak for a Philly cheese. I tell you though, that was the best damn gyro I've had since I left Chicago. I'm not sure if it was the gryo meat or the tzatziki sauce that gave it such a great flavor, but either way, I'm glad I finally decided to try this place. Oh, it came with a ton of fries too, perfectly fried so they are crispy outside and soft but hot...

Let's start with the negative: While mostly delicious it deviates from genuine. When you order make sure you ask for ORIGINAL Philly Cheesesteak otherwise they give you something with lettuce tomatoes, and mayo (none of these belong on a genuine cheesesteak). Also the cheese sauce belongs ON TOP not on the bottom

The gyro is the same. Also the gyro was pretty salty for me. That might have been because of the feta cheese but I don't think so.

Now the good: The prices are the best around. On the gyro the Tzatsiki isn't the best but I've certainly had significantly worse! The Chicken cheesesteak was really really good! In fact, the Philly and the gyro were tasty as well.
