RVA Cafe — Restaurant in Richmond

Food is okay, but not great. I've tried it twice now, but my opinion is the same. Today I ordered a 4 stack of french toast and eggs/bacon. Eggs are WAY overly salty and overcooked (brown) on the bottom. My eggs were supposed to be sunny side up, but I ended up with a broken, overcooked yolk, burnt/browned bottom, and slimey top. Plus it ran into the other egg, so now it just looks like 1 giant egg. I can cook a sunny side up egg way better than this. The rest of the food today was good, but again, not great. Bacon is slightly undercooked for my liking, but I didn't request it cooked longer, so that's on me.

Edit: 1/24/21 -- Tried RVA Cafe again, and will one more time only because I have a $9 credit from ubereats, but I continue to be unimpressed by this restaurant. Today my eggs were overcooked and my sausage gravy was brown and looked unappetizing. 0/3 success rate is why I've changed my rating from 3 stars to 2. Maybe this restaurant is great if you can eat food fresh in the restaurant cooked to order, but ordering delivery from apps because of the pandemic makes it stinky. The quality of the breakfast food is just... poor. Add to that the fact my food was estimated to arrive between 11:20 and 11:40, but didn't arrive until 12:15, and well... I think the 2 stars...

Wish I could’ve tried the food but unfortunately I will have to join the many of other bad reviews about using doordash to order from this restaurant, not only did they confirm my order, take 30 mins to prepare it, had the driver pull up AND wait at the restaurant for a good 15mins…but I never got it…after 30 minutes of waiting for my order they cancelled it and never answered the phone! When I checked business hours for the week it said closed at 11am but on doordash says 1pm, please fix this, or better yet stop using third party delivery services all together since y’all can’t seem to get orders out at a decent time or at all in my case 🤷🏽‍♀️

EDIT: you can save the unnecessary and unprofessional response, I’ve seen 10+ reviews about your terrible third party delivery service and order prioritization, learn how to hold yourselves accountable! I know how doordash works both ways and the delivery driver was definitely waiting at your restaurant and my order had been confirmed, you and your workers are the only ones who were aware of YOUR family emergency therefore you should’ve went on the DOORDASH app and turned off the orders, only updating the hours online does not change it...

Ordered thru Uber Eats because it showed as fastest delivery. Got the "hangry breakfast"..everything looked good. Uber stated i couldnt track my order cause the restaurant did their own delivery and i had to call the restaurant and everytime I tried it wouldnt go thru. Eventually i got a text saying track ur order thru a 3rd party service..extremely sketch. Figured it was a staff worker but a grubhub delivery driver pulled up (bag and all). Shrugged it off food LOOKED amazing. Bacon was perfect. Went to eat the eggs and noticed what I pray to God was sesame seeds or another time of seeds. Weird. Started on the hashbrowns...they were in there too and the weirdest cooked hashbrowns i have ever seen. Again..whatever.. on to the french toast and pancakes. Seeds were also in there and both were oddly burned..like not crispy (i like some crisp on the pancakes) but just black and heavy and soggy. Couldnt finish half of it. What a waste of money, including tip. Im surprised uber hasnt picked up on this since they are seeming to use a competitor as delivery while still using Uber's service..overall just odd and disappointing experience never...
