Waffle House — Restaurant in Richmond

I’ve been to this Waffle House a few times and every time everyone who works there are friendly and easy to converse with. When I do go there I typically request Beatrice because she goes above and beyond in her job. I’ve seen her clean, cook, serve etc and still give wonderful service. Every time I come here with my young daughter she makes sure she cooks it and serves it to perfection. My daughter always requests this specific Waffle House because of her and we live in Lexington! This to me says a lot about her as a person and her work ethic because my daughter doesn’t take to people so easily like she does Beatrice. She always ensures all the other customers are taken care of too and I’ve seen so many repeat customers there for her specifically. Even one older repeat gentlemen talked about how he went to her son’s school for Veterans Day. I’ve also seen her be friends with a couple of special needs people that come in there with their parents. Some people would scoff at them but, she’s always the first to greet them. Some of them don’t have many friends and she makes sure they feel no different than anyone else and she even goes above and beyond in her off hours to even go bowling and hang out with them. They talk about it a lot when in there. She definitely makes sure it’s a family friendly environment. So if you haven’t heard already request her specifically because she will make you, your family no matter the circumstances to make it the best experience while you’re there with no complaints even when your kids requests...

This visit was terrible the manager and one staff member was very disrespectful to a homeless person. She didnt have money for food after being confronted they offered her a bowl of chili and a customer paid for her to have anything she wanted. However another customer tried to show his displeasure with the manager and the manager was very disrespectful to the customer and caused a scene that should have been avoided. One customer that already ordered ask the manager to drop it so the homeless person's food was paid for. The manager would not let it rest the customer told manager that if she didnt stop he was leaving and the manager said leave. I eat at this place at least once a week and enjoy the food and staff with family however with management like that I have not been back and will probably go back if I see same manager on duty I will...

The food was pretty good. We arrived for a late supper after an afternoon of fishing. They were just starting a shift change. The waitresses were extremely loud, cursing, and complaining about other employees. I'm talking about yelling from one end of the front line to the other end. We were the only customers other than a walk-in. If the atmosphere wasn't bad enough, it's appalling to see waitresses with their hair down flying all over the place. When I was a waitress when I was younger, we were always required to keep our hair contained above the collar of our shirts. I also never saw any of the employees wash their hands. Not at shift change or after handling money.. We were there at least forty five minutes. I think some serious retraining...
