I’ve been here several times and it’s pretty grim every time unfortunately. Tonight just took the cake though. The menu is so confusing with its weirdly repetitive ingredients and “unique takes” on dishes such as the “club” sandwich. Which apparently is just a grilled chicken sandwich on a bun? Mind you, the other sandwiches that come on buns are specified in the menu. Felt like I had to unhinge my jaw to eat it when I looked at it. But that’s when I realized that the photo of a club on the menu looked nothing like what I received. After some convincing on my boyfriends part, our waitress agreed to have it made into something that more resembled a club sandwich. And also to make sure that my fries were warm this time around; since they weren’t the first time they arrived. My new club arrived looking more like that I expected, although it was missing the avocado it was supposed to come with, and came with onions -for the 2nd time- which I said I didn’t want. After the 15 or so minute wait to have it remade, I was just disappointed so I asked for a box and took it home. I’m not even sure it’s gonna get eaten, it was just sad looking and tasting and the chicken is dry. So that on top of the overpriced-partially empty $11 jalapeño poppers, made us decide to stop giving this place anymore chances. I don’t blame the waitstaff and honestly I don’t even blame the cooks, this feels very much like an issue with the management and how kitchen staff is trained to do things. Also an issue with the owners and their choices to make this place so abysmal and the food options so tasteless. $70+ meals shouldn’t be this...
Read moreThis was a bit of a disappointing experience. We came here because we love Ale's Crab house and they were closed last weekend. So we went to the steakhouse instead. It was clear many Crab House patrons made their way to the Steakhouse that night and maybe they were a little busier than they could handle. It took 20 minutes for anyone to come take our order. When we ordered margaritas and asked what tequila it was made with the answer we got was "house tequila". We said, okay, what brand is that?? Our waiter had no clue and didn't offer to check. I don't eat meat, so I ordered all sides, salad, potatoes, green beans and mushrooms. My husband ordered a Prime Rib dinner. My food came out a full 10 minutes before his. I picked around my plate trying to wait for him to get his food. Finally his food came, and his Med-rare Prime Rib was Medium well, seared on both sides. He sent it back to get one cooked as he ordered. He ordered a baked potato, and there was no salt and pepper on the table and none beought to the table. By the time his new food came mine was cold. I ate it anyway. The vegetables were so salty my tongue got pickled. By the time we were done we were frustrated. Expressed our disappointment to our waiter, and told him we felt our experience merited a discount on the bill. At least comp our drinks or offer a dessert or something? He said there was no manager there and no one in charge to talk to. We were so disappointed in this experience, not at all what we've come to expect from Ale's after frequenting the...
Read moreIt's the second time in two visits to Ridgecrest that I have gone to Ale's and each of the two times I have to admit that I got steak! According to a couple of sources it's the number one ratted steak joint in Ridgecrest and having also tried the "other options" I must agree it is the best of the few (not a ton of options) that I have indeed tried in my three (not just two) visits to town. In each of my two occasions in town when I went to Ale's the staff was exceptionally nice and very attentive. You might ask me; then why not a 5 Star review? Well part of it is the decor and part is overall good quality. Yes it was all very good but for me a 5 Star has got to rival the top of the line places, which, in my opinion it just does not stack up CLEARLY while in Ridgecrest and looking for the best steak in town, I strongly suggest you give Ale's a spin. Pretty funny last minute item is my colleague from Cincinnati OH pronounced the place as Al-ees why I pronounced it more like the beverage! Whick one is more correct I...
