I found this small cafe when I stayed in the motel next door. I went there, Budget Inn, to get away from the old Motel 6 several blocks down with their lousy service, but that's another story. Anyway, this is a small diner that serves breakfast and lunch. I've been going there for breakfast on Friday's and like the menu and particularly the service. Sue runs around serving the customer with a great attitude. You won't run out of coffee or whatever else with her around. Good time to go is before 8:30 AM when the regulars come in. Another thing I like is they have Tobasco sauce by default instead of some other places that treat it like it is some treasure that has to be safeguarded from the masses.

Small diner with very local feel and great service. It may not look like much from the outside but this high desert cafe is a time machine to the past. The decor and layout is mid-century cafe with what looks like all original furnishings. Maybe reupholstered sometime during the Carter Administration, it is nostalgic without trying to be. Food is good without pretension or much flair, but this isn’t that type of restaurant; burgers, breakfasts, comfort food. What sets this little cafe apart was the service; welcoming without being sappy or fake. Great little spot.

A fantastic old school breakfast joint. It's looked this way since the 70s. Some of the seats are patched. It looks worn. But the coffee is endless, the staff are super helpful (everyone gets called "hon") and the food is amazing. I had the best omlette of my life here: perfectly cooked and seasoned. Phenomenal. Excellent value for money. Go if you are ever in Ridgecrest, it's a gem. They don't take credit cards so bring cash, or go to the ATM across the street first.

I really love the classic diner look on the inside, and you have plenty of room in a booth. They make their biscuits and gravy fresh every day, and they are delicious. The order of 3 biscuits with gravy was fresh, warm, and with a very generous portion of gravy. Mind you, these are large biscuits, so be prepared to be filled up on deliciousness. I also ordered the chicken fried steak with gravy, and it was very good, along with the fluffy scrambled eggs and nicely cooked home fries. I'll definitely be back for breakfast and lunch. My friend had the pancakes, bacon, and biscuits and gravy and really enjoyed them too. Also, you can't beat the price for the amount of food you get so bring your cash and support an awesome small...

Midway Cafe is a pretty average spot overall. It’s a decent place to grab a quick breakfast or lunch, and the menu has the usual diner-style options—eggs, pancakes, burgers, sandwiches. The food is okay, but nothing really stands out. It gets the job done if you’re hungry, but don’t expect anything too memorable.

Service is usually friendly, though sometimes a bit slow if it’s busy. The place has a small-town, casual vibe, which is nice, but the atmosphere can feel a little dated. It could use a refresh to feel more inviting.

Not a bad option if you’re nearby and need a simple meal, but it wouldn’t be my first choice if I had other options. Just a middle-of-the-road...
