So the museum used to be located on base, but now it is located in the city of Ridgecrest next to the public library. The museum is very small. $5 seems a bit pricy for such a small exhibit. The gift shop and employee offices are actually larger than the museum itself. BUT, they are working on expanding the museum and creating a hanger which will house there many more items that are currently not on display. We were provided a tour and it was very informative. The items in the gift shop are also very nice. I don't recommend for young children because they will get bored. Great if you go by yourself. BE READY TO READ - they have a lot of information to absorb in such a...

█████DO NOT VISIT!█████ █████PICTURES WERE'NT TAKEN HERE!█████ I'm on a half year US trip, been to 35 states, but this place was the biggest disappointment as far as I remember. This is not a museum, there are no artifacts, this is just a small building with a lot of 21" monitors on the wall where you can watch films. Whoaaaa!

The pictures were'nt taken in the museum but at the air base's museum! The new museum in it's current form is just a $5 rip off. YouTube museum. No refunds of course. Hahaha, we have your money, good bye!

Visit instead: White Sands, Blackbird Airpark, Minter Field Air Museum these are all real museums AND...

The old museum was so much better! This new one must be a "for profit" venture. When we walked in a staff member ran around from behind the register to aggressively tell us we had to sign in and that it was going to cost $5 each to walk into a space about the size of an average living room and look at the few exhibits they have. We declined the museum but perused the gift shop side. The museum staff watched us like we had just gotten out of jail and were gonna grab stuff and run. Won't go back and I don't...

Unless you are a hardcore aviation, missile or military buff, it takes quite a bit of effort to get into the Museum. You need to do a background check at the entrance of the active military base. It could upward to 1 hour to get it done. However, the museum has a lot of information on missile history and development since Rattlesnake anti-air missile is developed here. However, it is a great little museum you won't see anywhere else.

Did expect to pay do to the sign they have posted that says gift shop always Free for some reason our brains thought it was free. Pretty reasonable pricing. A lot of neat history, pretty small museum, video was great, there's an area for kiddos or adults to build a Lego plan which is neat. Gift shop had a lot of neat things as well.

If you’re not into this things, it’s a quick visit. If you’re into these things, you might be here a while since they have things here up close that’s not easily found elsewhere. This group is working to get the rest of the exhibits moved here from the nearby, and not open to the public Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake.
