Came here on my birthday during the weekday and had the worst service. I’m a server myself, so I understand what good and fast service is supposed to be. I have no idea if it was because we were of color or what, but when we were sat all the way on the other side of the restaurant away from everyone else. it was at least 15 minutes before a waitress even came over and took our drinks order. The restaurant was nearly empty by the way as it was 3pm. I kept seeing the two waitresses standing by the bar doing nothing but talking to each other and the bartender and casually looking around the restaurant ignoring our direction. They would occasionally go to check on their guests on the other side, who were light skinned Hispanics by the way. Then it took ten minutes or more to actually get our drinks, to the point where I was ready to go to bar and just ask the bartender myself. All I got was a ginger ale and my friend got a margarita . When we finally got our drinks, we had been there already for over 30 minutes. Food came out about 20-25 minutes later and once the waitresses dropped off our food, they quickly left and did not check on us again. My drink was empty shortly after getting our meal and I was also missing the sauces I was supposed to get with my skirt steak. We could not for the life of us get any of the girls attention for over ten minutes. At that point, another black couple was seated on this side of the restaurant with us, away from the other side, which we found more strange. We had to flag down THEIR waitress to ask her for a drink and the sauces. As a server, you’re always supposed to make sure their glass is full and to check on them shortly after getting their meal to see if anything is missing. Our waitress was simply avoiding us. The food was good I will say, but insanely expensive. The skirt steak was 40$ alone and didn’t come with any sides, you had to pay I believe 10$ for rice and beans. It was just me and my friend there, and when we got the bill there was an automatic 18% gratuity. Seriously automatic gratuity for a party of two? We would have tipped regardless. Then it asked if we wanted to leave an additional tip on top of that. Automatic gratuity should not be a reason for terrible service. Decor was also tacky. I was super disappointed in this place- loved the food but I would not go back and I would not recommend just based off the service and attitudes. Saw this place on TikTok and was excited to go for my birthday but it seems like only certain people get good...
Read moreI have been wanting to come here for a while, I’m sad we didn’t. I have to say the moment we walked in the place was not too packed but the hostess saw us but did not make eye contact and seem flustered, we have never been here before so we did not know we needed a reservation.. she made it seem as if we did, when she asked us if we had a reservation and we said no she seemed annoyed but looking around there was so many empty table.
We had our baby and made a face and said if we could make our stroller smaller, we were surprised but said okay so I put the stroller away in the car. Then when she came to seat us said we needed the stroller…. So my partner at this point is visibly upset and she was apologizing but in a non genuine way. It was embarrassing because we had a couple watching the entire thing and it just felt completely unwelcoming. I wanted to give the benefit of doubt that maybe she had an off night but reading reviews and being a host prior she needs training… or maybe focus on greeting people a bit better and not showing an annoyed face.
I have to say the night got better- we had Gabriel as our server, increíble service, amazing food Leche de Leon is shrimp chopped up Ceviche, we. Could not stop eating it ! My favorite was the pulpo 🐙 a la brasa… My father in law was so happy for his birthday .
Ricardo the manager had came to check on us’ we didn’t tell him about the host but we did express how great the food and Gabriel was. I love how the service was from them two, this was an ok experience than turned into amazing experience I will come back for sure!!!!
The flight of margaritas were so good and the virgin pina colada was soooo beautifully presented.
I will be back - it would have been 5 stars but the host knocked it...
