The Colonial Bar — Restaurant in Ridgefield

Ordered a ginger ale and cranberry sans ice and was told the price was $6 because I requested no ice. It was $4 with ice. Later, I asked for quarters for the pool table and handed the bartender two $1 coins. She asked what they were and after I explained they were dollar coins she refused to take them. She told me that she couldn't accept them because the coins couldn't be given out as change. She then went on to tell me that it was the bar's policy and not hers. Why it's policy to not accept coins at this bar still puzzles me. A bit later, I ask for a cranberry and pineapple, no ice. I get told the bar doesn't have enough pineapple juice for my drink and they've had to ration out the pineapple juice from the one 6oz can they still have, for the rest of the night. I hope the owner has a chance to respond to this review. I would really like to know the reasoning behind refusing to accept legal US tender and how the bar can operate by rationing out juice to someone who, for personal reasons, doesn't...

I came here for happy hour a few times and got $3 Heineken's from a bartender. Visited during happy hour and a different bartender charged me $5. Ok cool, like others say it's a "regulars bar" I get that. This guy made eye contact with me and went on to serve 3 other people first who weren't even done with their drinks. Ok cool, it's 5pm and not busy at all. I had a long day and needed a drink. BUT apparently if your skin is slightly brown or darker, be prepared to deal with some inexplicable BS. Why though when EVERYONE'S MONEY IS GREEN!? Do I have to be initiated in for some decent service? Do you want my first child instead? Could I at least get a coaster if you're going to overcharge me? Or do you just want a reason to complain about the Hispanic guy "mistreating" your bar?? Only place with a pool table open during COVID though so I guess I had to...

We go there at least every month. Sometimes more often. This is the only bar I will go to. The owner who is a wonderful man knows how to run his business. He's so friendly to everyone and is always making sure everyone is taken care of. Also his staff is another amazing person. She is on top of everything at all times. The people who come there are usually the same faces and that's what makes this family feel like home. If there is one bar I would recommend it's...
