LandShark Seafood & Catfish — Restaurant in Ridgeland

Where do I start. I will start with the 5 ⭐️ service from the lady and gentleman running this establishment. Thank you for providing crawfish on a Sunday. Mudbugs and Crawdad Hole were both close, so I found LandShark Seafood & Catfish on google.

Now to the 3 ⭐️ rating I’m giving. As soon as I got home, I placed the bag of 4lb crawfish, 2 corn and 2 potatoes on my countertop. Soon after, the bag fell open and my cabinets and floor were covered in the liquids flowing from the bag. I’ve NEVER received a bag of crawfish filled with the seasoned water. After opening the bag I noticed that there was still a substantial amount of brown liquid inside. The corn and the potatoes were overcooked and soggy. The potatoes were super small as well. As for the taste, they were a bit salty, but that could’ve been because of the standing liquids. Overall, I’d give it 3 ⭐️ and I’d try it 1 more time in hopes of a better experience.

If suggestions are taken, I’d consider cooking the corn and potatoes less time, maybe adding an extra potato when they are that small instead of charging full price for that size and definitely strain your crawfish before bagging. I feel robbed. I overpaid for potatoes and a bag of juice. 🤦🏾‍♀️

UPDATE: After writing the original review I drained or attempted to drain the crawfish and taste another. Why did I do that, now I’m BIG MAD. I’m not from Jackson, but like I said previously, Mudbugs and Crawdad Hole were close and those were my goto spots since moving here.

I’ve been following The Landshark since they started up in Oxford YEARS ago and I was in school there!! During crawfish season, me and friends were there literally on a daily basis!! Now they have multiple locations, and have recently opened this one closer to home to me and I couldn’t LOVE THIS MORE. The owners and employees are people who become more like family and if there is a rare time something goes wrong (as it always does in the food business) they will go to the end of the earth to make it right each and every time. The little truck is in next to a building. The park area has a 4 in drop off you have to go though to park. For my low car I heard it scrape. They have good service. They ran out of cooked crawfish and I had to wait 20 min which I do not mind. I got out and paid (30)and was told I get 2 extra lbs for waiting patiently. He brought it to me, and I left. I got home and weighed it on my on own food scale, it was 4 lbs including the 4 potatos and 2 corn I bought. I don't believe it was 5 lb of crawfish. The crawfish was good but was missing juice.
