Wow! What a wonderful and delicious find this was! 5-Star rating as they checked all the boxes and added some new ones (such as the variable size pours for tasting). Being Texan’s in CO we never know how we will be accepted. “ALL” of the staff at Chloe’s were warm, friendly and amazing (yes, they knew we were from TX)! Starting with the young lady who seated us and took care of us all the way to the owner, Holly these were some of the most gracious folks I have been around anywhere. The wine offering was amazing! Unlike so many larger establishments with unlimited wine possibilities Chloe’s has a solid selection of about 40 wines that truly cover the spectrum of what anyone could possibly want. We discovered an amazing Tannat produced by Bodega Garzon (Uruguay). Outstanding, especially with the beautiful charcuterie board that came highly recommended. And yes, the food is the show piece with flavors that abound! At this point I will say we made a second trip to Chloe’s in our five day visit to the area. The food brought us back without a doubt and we were not disappointed! We had to drive about 30 miles from our accommodations but that was nothing as we knew what waited for us. I could go on and on but this is a place both visitor’s and locals should frequent and be proud of. Rarely does one find an amazing experience such as this that checks all the boxes! Chloe’s is a must for those who want amazing friendliness and service, wines (and a few local beers) that are hard to find and a treat to the palate, and food that is a gastronomic sensation! (In Texan that is “Dang Good”! We will be making a return...
Read moreMy truck broke down and I was stuck in Ridgeway for a few hours. The old woman with the bandana and tattoos is extremely rude. Due to all of the tables being completely full next door at Tacos and Beer, I got an order to go. Chloe's Charcuterie and Wine had three of the four tables empty outside, only one taken. I decided to sit down for just a few minutes while I waited for my tacos from next door. She came off as SO condescending. She just asked "are you going to buy anything?". Not "what can I get you, do you need a menu, would you like something?" Nothing. I told her I was just waiting for my tacos and that since there were plenty of seats available, I thought it would be okay. She proceeded to give me this condescending scenario asking me, "if you paid rent somewhere, would you let someone just sit in your house for free? Let me get you a menu" It's one of those moments where its not what you say its how you say it, completely passive aggressive. A couple sitting at one of the tables at Tacos and Beer saw how condescending and rude she was being towards me and said I can sit with them if I'd like, which says alot. Since I was rushed out of there, I happened to leave a Gatorade bottle on the table by accident. She then brought it to the table I was sitting at and asked "is this yours?" Knowing it was. Then gave me a dirty look and set it on the table next to me and walked away. I dont know how she has business. I think if I wasnt in my work clothes and was dressed up like everyone else, she would have treated the situation alot better if you know what I mean. Rude and...
Read moreI know nothing about wine and I can say nothing but good things about Chloe’s. Is that a good thing? I think it is. Holly (the owner) is the least pretentious and most knowledgeable wine person I have ever met. Somehow she pinpoints the exact wines I will enjoy the most—consistently and thoughtfully. She is helping me navigate the world wine in a non-judgmental way. This place is fun! It’s a great place to bring friends as well as a great place to read a book while enjoying a glass of wine. And the food is the best in Ridgway. I have never had smoked salmon this good. Tonight I had a panini that was a delight. I...
