Seafood Hut — Restaurant in Ridley Township

Tried this place for the 1st time 2-3 months ago. I ordered a fried fish platter that included flounder and catfish. It also came with two sides. My total was over $15. To start the service was good because no hoodrat chicks were working there. But the food is unfortunately what disappointed me.

The Mac & Cheese was the best thing I had and was pretty good. The fries were hot but had zero flavors (the type of fries you would make cheese fries with) and they begged for ketchup.

Now the fried fish was hot and fresh but was cooked with zero seasonings. And the crust didn't stick to the meat properly and broke off into chip-like pieces. Also it appear as if they fried the fish while it was still frozen. If the fish was seasoned properly before cooking and had a better batter it would have been a good meal.

They do contain several Arab food products which I did not try but we're interesting to see. If this location does not begin to season the fried fish better and use a buttermilk batter it will go out of business due to The Ocean Crab restaurant in the same shopping center. First let me say the owner and workers are very kind people. They always have a smile and enjoy chatting with their customers. The service is amazing My husband bought 2 boils with Alaskan crab legs,Mussles and shrimp as well as the shrimp cake with Gouda cheese. . I will say you do get a lot of food in the boil because it comes with corn, potatoes and a big head of broccoli so you can’t go wrong the the quantity. However the quality is questionable. The seafood did not taste freshThe shrimp in the boil were obviously freezer burnt which means they were thawed and then cooked. It was definitely noticeable since you could see and taste it on the shrimp. All of the seafood were very over cooked. My husband mentioned his shrimp cake tasted like “sink water “ which sounds like it may have been thawed in the sink. We spent over $120 on our food and was very disappointed .
