Long but worth a read if you really want to try this place- TLDR at bottom.
I have tried this place twice now. The first time was when the restaurant had a BOGO deal on UberEats so I ordered 2 general tso combo plates for takeout which were truly decent especially for the price and not at all indicative of what I was in for when I went in to sit down for dinner at the buffet. I will admit we went for dinner on 1/6 which was the day of the first snow storm of the season and we went around 7pm so that was definitely a mistake on our part, but even so, the food that night was some of the worst I’ve ever eaten and I don’t say things like that lightly especially on a public platform. I am writing this 2 days later because I initially chalked it up to being an off night due to the snow, but I am still suffering from GI issues 2 days later and I still have literal cuts on the inside of my mouth due to how hard and stale the food was so I feel like it is necessary to warn others. Again, we probably should not have gone that night just given the timing and circumstances, but there were several other people there so you would think they might have made SOMETHING fresh even just a batch of rice or something easy. Even if the food was fresh, I still have reservations about the cleanliness- particularly the self serve ice cream station where people stick their hands/faces into those huge tubs of ice cream and stick the scoops into a mystery liquid for sanitizing. The idea is good, but I don’t think it is wise to rely on patrons to be clean and the sanitizing liquid looked a little murky but I am no expert on how that should look. The flavors were good but they were all mixed together I’m sure due to a child or careless person having a field day in there, and all the cones were just out in the open. Just didn’t seem right, but again the intention was good. I would suggest lids for all the ice cream tubs and a plastic dispenser for cones so they are not just sitting out for anyone to touch or collect airborne germs.
That all said, I would be willing to go much earlier in the day when the food is just made to give them another chance ONLY because the take out I ordered before this incident was pretty decent and was fairly priced. My advice would be to go for lunch when they first open or order takeout because they do make the takeout orders fresh to order even at night which was a plus (I had to sit and wait while they made mine around 6pm which I was totally fine with).
TLDR: takeout is decent and made to order, going early in the day when food is fresh is best to avoid food that has been sitting and has become hard/stale. Don’t come into this with high...
Read moreToday was me and my family’s first time here… walking in I felt a bit unsure since we were the only people there. Prices are fair. No complaints there. Viewing the food I was ready to ask for a refund but I said let’s give a benefit of the doubt… the only thing that I enjoyed was the rib tips and my Pepsi. Everything else’s was over cooked, mushy, or old looking. My husband said the lemonade and rib tips were amazing. And that the place has potential if they serve fresh food. Our oldest daughter is 7 and she only liked the chicken wings and shrimp. She actually loved the chicken she had many plates. They werent that good though. My little ones didn’t eat much which isn’t normal they love Chinese food. The lo mein was cold. They hated the Mac and cheese. They loved the broccoli from the chicken and broccoli. The lady at the front is super sweet and very nice. She was taking plates and refilling drinks. We had to call her over. It wasn’t your normal Buffett atmosphere. They really need help here. It has potential to be a great place. They need customers, good marketing, fresh tasteful food, a complete staff, and again fresh food. For $60 something dollars was it worth it no. Hopefully they can make some changes. I don’t see us coming back but I wish them the best as a business I...
Read moreI really wish they had the option of NO star! I should have turned around when I first walked in. My husband and I stopped in after I had worked a 16 hour shift. First, how does an establishment want you to pre-pay a tip? They have a ton of items to choose from, however, everything looked so old. Maybe leftover from their lunch buffet and added on to. Nothing I had had any flavor. Not even the root beer. Their Chinese donuts were clearly canned biscuits, deep fried with a pinch of sugar. The vegetable rolls, not sure what was in the middle all mashed up. There are signs that say do not waste food. Trust me when I say, if you leave it on your plate, guarantee they pick it off and add it back. They way the breading was on their shrimp and fish, I almost broke a tooth. That shit was so hard!! I literally spent $53 including a tip to leave hungry. I was not risking food poisoning. Never again. Oh, almost forgot to mention that we had just sat down from making our initial plate and the waitress came over and placed a small tray with 2 fortune cookies on it and thanked us for coming. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 not even bothering to ask if everything is ok or for a drink refill!!! Y’all can have this whole mess!!! Last but not least, it...
