Barramarina — Restaurant in Rincón

My husband and I decided to drive to Rincon from Vega Baja for a day trip. Went by the beach and saw Barramarina. We wanted some seafood and they had a great rating. We ordered the seared tuna with rice and fish skewers with a side salad. After waiting for a hour we decided to leave. Fish should not take that long to cook in no form. We were one of two couples that ordered food and the other couple ordered, ate their food and left before our food ever came. Everyone else were having drinks at the bar. We honestly feel like we were forgotten. When my husband told one of the servers that we wanted to pay for our water and coke and leave, she left from behind the bar, walked to the kitchen, grabbed our food and walked to our table. The other server came over and apologized saying the cook is slow, but then she said that this isn't a fast food restaurant in response to me saying that our food shouldn't have taken that long without communication that it was going to be that long before our food was ready. It’s all about expectations. I saw a couple of one star reviews and could see how they came to their conclusions. We showed up at noon with a party of six. They said the kitchen was just opening and it may take some time to get our food. We were perfectly okay with that and waited while drinking some of the best Mojitos in Puerto Rico. When the food arrived it definitely was the best we’ve had on the island. My son is a picky eater, ordered the fish sandwich and said it was the best he ever had. This fish is fresh and seasoning is exceptional (you can see their herb garden next to the dining area). So, if you want something fast or be assured your party can be served food this isn’t the place for you. If you are patient and lucky to get seated you will have the best food and drinks...

5/5, utterly delicious, and pitch perfect atmosphere. No thumping beats, just great conversation with locals and light music in the background. Service is honest and kind. The rum punch is really great and came with fresh fruit (cherries, blueberries and blackberries). We got fish tacos, which were grilled and came with grilled slices of potato and sweet potato. The side salad was fresh and came with light dressing and grilled warm eggplant. The shrimp ceviche was well balanced and also very fresh. Cannot go wrong with these options.
