Don't usually write bad reviews, but this one definitely gets it. We came for the sunset dinner. The sunset was the only great thing. After we were seated, 3 more tables came in after us. They were all handed menus and we weren't, so we looked up the menu online. All 3 tables ordered and received drinks prior to someone taking our orders, so I waved down the waitress. While ordering I asked about how the lamb is cooked since it said half a rack so I made sure to ask if they are all cut separately and cooked on both sides she said that's exactly how they cook them and then asked the temperature I'd like them. I asked for medium well to well done. They were all cooked together and only cut after being cooked and the inside is medium to rare. All the other food we ordered was just OK nothing special especially for the prices you pay. If you do want to watch the sunset here just come for drinks and get...
Read moreAs with all my travel adventure, Costa Rica was no exception to my desire to live like a local. My family and I stayed at Dreams, Las maestros (which deserves a review of its own) and set out for the best local sea food. After hitting the closest town of La Cruz, we were directed to Playa Copal next to La Cruz in the north of the west coast. The restaurant sits high atop a hill overlooking the ocean near the kite surfing school and the area said to be rebound for the sport. Anyway, back to the food. Simply Over the top.! From the appetizers to the drinks. We got the Lobster Thermadore, grilled lobster and mixed sea food platter. Lobster thermadore was among the best I’ve had and the lobster itself was so fresh I almost felt guilty for eating it. Portions were super generous and the price was good enough for you to try whatever you desired. You simply can’t be near LaCruz and not stop...
Read moreWe came across this place because it had a beautiful view. We really enjoyed our appetizers, the shrimp, tuna poke, and poached pears. However when it came to entrees the daily special of yellowfin and fried rice was tasteless, and rice was overcooked. we also ordered the NY strip which was actually a tenderloin cut and came out well done when ordered medium. We understand that it was busy and seemed understaffed, but server was slow. However the food runner was great and made up for her. For the price we were paying we expected higher quality food and service. The biggest failure was the fact that our credit card WAS CHARGED THE WRONG AMOUNT. I was shocked to find an extra $30 charge on my card than I approved. I took a picture of the receipt before I left. As a server myself, I would NEVER add extra to a bill no matter how I thought my service was. This is unprofessional and...
