I normally always go to this DQ on a Saturday night (other days depending) and the food/Ice Cream is usually always acceptable on my part. I order the Peanut Buster Parfait the majority of the time when I go and 8/10 times its always great! The service however has been the major turnoff for me at this location now. For the last 6+ months that I have gone, I usually deal with the same employee at the Drive-Thru window. It's a young lady with glasses and usually has her hair in ponytails. I already know who she is and what she sounds like at the intercom when I'm ordering, so when I order, mind you its pretty much always the same thing (2 PBP with +Hot Fudge) she doesn't even ask if I would like anything else and directly gets to the "Ok you're total is this/that have a great night" with an extremely hostile tone. She knows it's me. Then when I arrive at the window to pay, she always presents herself to me with such hostility, rolling her eyes and giving me dirty looks from time to time. I have never approached her in a bad way. I always go to this location with a positive manner and it takes a lot for me not to say anything to her or to speak to a manager about her service. I don't know if she just gets annoyed about my order or just me in general. You can see it in her body language. That's really the only con I have about this place. The rest of the other workers seem fine to me. I definitely don't plan to boycott this location only because of this minor problem, but I hope this issue can get resolved because that girl definitely doesn't give me a good...
Read moreI was on my way to an event. I remembered that Dairy Queen has really good soft pretzels. I came in and ordered a couple of orders. The pretzels were very flavorful and the cheese sauce was pretty good. They came out very warm and soft as they should.
The only concern I had was with the staff. The young lady at the register was amazing! She was taking orders. She was welcoming guests. She was running order to the tables. She was running around, didn't miss a beat and did it all with a smile.
There were 4 employees running the drive through. 3 of them walked by me and did even acknowledge me. I figured they were busy with their job so I didn't think much of it. I started to think this is actually normal behavior for them as two others joined them around the drive through area. One I believe was a manager and the other a shift supervisor. These two walked back and forth by me numerous times and they also did nit acknowledge me. Again, I figured they were working on something.
What made me wonder about all of them was that none of the 4 and the other 2 helped the young lady up front. The orders weren't even brought to the register for her to run to the tables. While my wait time for her to take my order was a bit longer than it could have been, I give complete kudos to this young lady. She and the pretzels (the cooks as well), are the reason I will be back. I wish I could remember her name but please let her know she is a great ambassador to this store. Read moreI went to get an ice cream cake for my nephew’s birthday. When I tried to open the door I found it locked with a note about the lobby being closed due to a shortage of staff. I covered my face for a moment in exasperation. This already felt like a long day. I wasn’t sure if I would have to go to a different store and I had to be back before he got off the bus. So I tried the drive through. I was riding a maxi scooter (it’s like a motorcycle but has great storage and is lighter weight) and wasn’t sure how this was going to work out. I didn’t see ice cream cakes on the menu but requested it nonetheless. The sweet lady on the other end asked if I wanted the Oreo cake or the regular one. “Yes! That one!” She asked if I wanted anything written on it and she did a spell check (which was great because my nephew’s name is often misspelled). She told me that it was $10 off ice cream cake day. “Sweet!” So I pulled up to the window, turned off my bike, paid the nice gentleman, opened my trunk and when the lady started to hand me my cake she paused and asked if I wanted a bag. “Thank you! And could you add some ice so it doesn’t melt on my way home?” She happily did just that. I hopped back on my bike, was surprised by how fast the whole processed went and got home in plenty of time for my boy to get off the bus. I had no idea it was so easy. They personalized the cake in pretty handwriting and joyfully handed it off in the time it takes to order a shake. They made my chaotic day easier and there was a happy boy at...
