Man O man, do I root for the local guy, I really do! I’d muchbrather have a pizza place (even though we have 4 in a 1/2 mile strip. They continuously irritate me. I work in sales, so this means I have to shrug stuff off and GAIN the the customer, not piss them off. The first time I ever went in there I was like 50 cents short of their “minimum” charge” …. They had been there a month, and they wouldn’t let it slide. I walked out. After a year (2 kids, minimum pizza order 1 a week) I gave them a second chance. Better but still always detached from making local relationships…. Weird. The pizza is good but often burnt crust, I think they think, this is how it should be, but no biggie. Except kids don’t like that. But I called Friday night to order FOUR pizzas for an athletic team in local River Edge, for the next day. You would think I asked to move the moon. I was greeted with a stressed “we have an oven down, no more orders”. OK, I get it, stuff happens. I went in the following AM T 11:30 and asked for the discount coupons they had given me , they said they can’t give me another. I explained it was for a local kids sports team, they may want to rethink that, and it was a whole thing….. we are talking $5 folks. They finally annoyingly, gave me the pre-printed coupon. I almost walked out. I then explained they may want to put their company name on the boxes (marketing 101)…. Stated in the face. I then asked if the oven from the night before was fixed and would that be an issue making 4 hot pizzas together and the reply from the girl was” I dunno, shouldn’t be” ….???? I said can you ask, it’s kind of important…… point is, are YOU KIDDING ME?!!! I felt like I was working for them. Wait, gets better. After the $5 coupon they grasped to, it should have been like $60 minus $5 ….. $55 before tax right? Nope, they have this ridiculous charge for credit cards and it was like $71 plus……… wait, gets better……. Unasked them to deliver the pizzas at a school 1/2 mile away, and wow, that was another 10 minutes of explaining….. the cherry, they brought them at 12:30, vs 1:30 when I specifically said multiple times. They did come back at 1:30, but of course, the pizza was luke warm. I just don’t get it, do they not get making relationships with locals is key? Jesus, this is sales BASICS. Man, I almost feel bad for them……… they are pretty rude (accept owner) …. And the attitude face is totally...
Read moreThis afternoon, I stopped by Joseph’s Pizzeria to grab a pie quickly. Since I was in a rush, I asked to buy the display pie. The young man at the counter, who claimed to be the owner, showed a complete lack of customer service skills. He refused to sell me the display pie, despite the shop being completely empty. What made this even more frustrating was the pricing—if I bought the pie by the slice, it would cost over $25, but ordering a fresh one was $21. The refusal to sell the display pie made no sense.
Honestly, the pizza itself was just okay, nothing special. With such poor customer service, I’d think twice before going to Joseph’s Pizzeria again.
Let me know if you’d like to adjust the tone or details! They lost a...
Read moreJoseph's Pizzeria is hands down one of the best pizza spots in town! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere and a friendly staff that makes you feel right at home. The pizza is absolutely delicious – crispy crust, fresh ingredients, and the perfect balance of flavors in every bite. The toppings are generous, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. The pasta dishes are also incredible, and the portions are more than generous. Whether you're dining in or grabbing a slice to go, Joseph’s never disappoints. Highly recommend it for anyone craving an authentic, top-notch...
