
I was pleasantly surprised at the terrific food here. I had chicken taquitos, my friend had fajitas; ya, we are super-gringo like you truly would not believe in a million years!
While the decor is unremarkable-- almost unseeable in the dimly-lit room-- the meal stood out as the best, most-authentic in ages. It put me in mind of Mount Pleasant (before it got real bad, then got real nice!) and the high-quality home cooking there used to be.
They wete out of this, they didn't have that, it was the middle of the afternoon so we absolutely understood, all minor inconveniences of no note, because: the food.
Crunch, zippy sauce, savory spices, a gentle heat, it was all great. Highly recommended, give it a try.

There's many restaurants like this one in the DC area and they're basically aimed towards Hispanic men. The girls usually dress in very provocative clothing and they're very flirty because they're hoping to get you to buy a lot of drinks, and since the drinks are WAY overpriced it means they're going to make a lot of money. Expect the food to be terrible because no one really goes there for the food. And the loud music? That's also very common because no one goes there expecting to have an interesting conversation.
