I came to the chilis cause I had a $25 gift card. This is really the only reason we came to this Chilis and it’s not a normal place we go to eat. When I went to run the gift card at the end to pay, there were issues which I why I’m writing the review.
First I’ll start by saying Greg the server was very nice and it was not his fault. We had no complaints about the food or his service.
When Greg could not solve the issue with the gift card he asked the manager Michele to help out. Michelle said she knows a lot about these cards and deals with this all the time and told me to go online and activate the card. So I followed her directions and it did not work, she told me to call them. (She told me to call them, she didn’t call them, she told me to even though she deals with this all the time). When I called the chilis card, the reason they said it did not work was because they ran the card through 3 times and depleted the balance. So she said the Chilis should have a record of this., I told the manager Michelle and she said it did not work. And she said this is normal and it happens all the time.
At this point, I told my wife and two kids to go wait in the car cause they were getting a bit antsy at the table and then asked Michelle the manager what to do.
She once again said, “yeah that happens all the time and then just stares at me” and offered nothing to fix it or take the card off the check. I said fine and in frustration said I would pay the full amount. At that point I think she knew I was frustrated and came back and tried to take off a kids meal to solve the gift card issue (an offer of $12) . I told her no, she has not been helpful and I would pay the full price.
Here’s what I don’t understand. We are two educated people who brought our children out to dinner. We are respectful, we didn’t return any food, we didn’t complain and I would think we are the type of customer you would want returning to your establishment. My wife and I both worked as managers in the service industry back in college and we don’t understand Michelle’s thought process. She said this is a common issue, it happens all the time, and these cars always give a problem yet she apparently has not learned how to solve the problem of these cards. She did nothing to rectify the situation and told me, in a patronizing way, to solve the issue on my own.
Michelle probably comps full meals all day to complainers, she had a table of high school kids next to us who were loud, rude, and probably left no tip. Yet, she didn’t want to help our family out and be understanding of the situation? Isn’t that the customer you want to earn back to your restaurant?
Once again, we only came to Chili’s cause we had this gift card.. it’s your job to make us have a nice time and make us want to come back and you didn’t achieve it Michelle.
Once again, Greg the server was very nice. The host and hostess were very polite. The food runner was very sweet. Michelle, act more like them, acting patronizing or talking down to a customer did nothing to solve the issue. It just gets a review like this and customers that won’t come back. You did the exact opposite of what your...
Read moreWish I could give 0 stars. My family and I, who frequent Riverdale Chili’s, ordered 8 entrees totaling $113 for delivery. DoorDash, who is partnered with Chili’s, ended up delivering one item, which was a cheesecake, and was tipped $13 beforehand when we ordered on the app. I called DoorDash, and they were very unhelpful and told me to call back Chili’s. We called Chili’s and the woman who answered the phone said she would give us to her manager, and we heard her say, “well it wasn’t our fault.” Got on the phone with the manager, Ashton, who was even more unhelpful. Said at this point it couldn’t be delivered, and we had to come pick up cold food, as it had been sitting there for over an hour at that point. We offered to come pick it up as long as they remade it because, again, it was sitting there for over an hour, and he said “no, it’s just too much food to remake.” After back and forth and telling us he’s trying to help, which idk how he thought that bc we had to come pick up cold food , we settled for the refund. No regard for the situation we endured, no compensation. He did not care that he was losing long-time customers. Very much a shame that we will not be going back after all these years. To make matters worse, it sounded like he put us on speaker phone for the whole...
Read moreI didn't like anything about this Chili's. The food was disappointing, even by chain food standards. They told us we'd have a 15 minute wait and consistently let people in ahead of us. After about 30 minutes of this, I went to ask about it and was told they had a lot of call aheads. So if you know this trick and call as your driving up, you get to cut ahead of people who are waiting in line. You know it's slimy but at least tell me I'll be waiting a half an hour because I didn't know the trick so I can decide to go elsewhere. The meal was also over priced. I asked if what I was ordering, the fajitas, was a pretty big portion and the waitress suggested I order something else too because, despite being an entree, it didn't come with much in terms of vegetables or sides. After tasting one of my children's sides, the one the waitress recommended, I was glad I didn't order it. As if all that wasn't bad enough, they had some people waiting stand right in front of our table I had this guys bottom directly across from me. When I asked about it I was told, yeah, that's where we let them wait. Do yourself a favor and...
