I would give this place 4,5 stars if I could and I think it has all of the potential to become a 5 stars restaurant with some improvements being done. We really loved both the homemade flour tortillas and the crispy ones , they are free but the food is pricey to make up for it, you can literally see the machine that bakes the flour tortillas in the middle of the room and it's pretty cool to watch. Kids loved when they gave them a bit of tortilla dough to play with while waiting for the food and parents love too things like this that make it easy to go out for dinner with the little ones. In general you can tell that it's a restaurant that takes pride in what they do. The shrimps wrapped in bacon were amazing. The server was doing her job very well, always refilling the tortillas and even the fact that at the end they offer kids an ice cream makes them want to come back for sure and being well behaved during the time before. It's a nice gesture that makes the difference. I asked for a cocktail menu and they said there isn't one so you basically have to ask the server what they have then wonder how much it will cost because of course it's not on a written menu. No happy hour menu. Margerita was underwhelming. When I go to a Mexican restaurant I personally like to have a good one and also being able to order a bigger size. Shredded beef tacos had no taste, it wasn't even comparable respect to how amazing the shrimps were. Knowing what to order and how amazing their tortillas are this is definitely a place that makes you want to come back . I recommend going during the week because it definitely gets busy. Take out boxes and kids glasses made of styrofoam...
Read moreI have been to Anchos several times. And most times I’m bring someone that has never been there. I live and hour from Anchos to top it off. And I never had any issues. Till yesterday Sat Dec 4th. We got seated and everything was fine. It was crazy busy like normal. Still no big deal. Our server comes with salsa and sets it down right on top of my menu. I even mentioned it to him and he acted like nothing. I was just blown away and shook my head. We place our order. Food starts coming out. I get the # 1 the tamal was terrible (fist time ever) masa was raw veggies raw. And it had like a sour taste. I mentioned it to our server and didn’t get options on what to do with it. So I said it’s find. Fast forward I asked for containers to take my beans and rice home. And he brings me a box. I tell him I asked for containers. He starts arguing with me that I asked for a box. When I never asked for a box. At this point I was done. He then comes back asked if we wanted tortillas and I asked everyone Y’all wants some. Because i didn’t care at this point for anything. He then gets an attitude saying I’m trying to be nice ok. Seriously worst experience I have ever had here. I didn’t want to ask for his manager because I know how hard times are right now. But I did speak to her on my way out. And another of his server friends were hovering around listening to my conversation with the manager. Sorry but I don’t ever plan on coming back...
Read moreI am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction following a recent dining experience at your restaurant with my family.
During our visit, we placed our usual order without any indication of issues. However, when the food was served, I discovered a large piece of rock in one of the bean bowls. Understandably, this was highly disappointing and concerning, as it not only ruined the meal but also raised serious questions about the food safety standards at your establishment.
I brought this matter to the attention of the manager on duty, hoping for a prompt apology and a resolution, such as a replacement dish. Instead, I was told, “lots of people complain the same thing lately. must be from the venter.” This response was not only unprofessional but also dismissive. No apology was offered, nor was there any willingness to address the issue properly. Shifting the blame to your supplier, the venter, without taking accountability reflects poorly on your management and customer service.
Regardless of the source of the contamination, the fact remains that the item originated from your restaurant, where I paid for a clean, safe, and pleasant dining experience. Such lapses are unacceptable and undermine customer trust.
I urge you to take this matter seriously and improve your quality control procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future. Additionally, I would appreciate a formal apology and information on how you...
