Butch's Grinders — Restaurant in Riverside

If customer service is key 🔑 then buthces can't open the lock. The lady who took our order was semi rude, unpleasant & made it seem as if we were a bother & or unhappy to be there working. We explained we just moved to riverside & we're recommended to come to Butch's... she appeared to not care. We asked what would she recommend... it was like pulling teeth to get her to be helpful & friendly but we tried. Honestly her attitude killed my want to eat there but my gf wanted to absolutely try it still. She ordered BUTCHS ULTIMATE ITALIAN & I ordered the clam chowder soup. They say bad customer service can alter the taste of food & I think THEY are right. It was bland & missing pickles when the display advertised pickles come with. The clam chowder soup was super small and tasted like dehydrated soup u mix with hot water. Eh... for $25 bux I could have went some where with better customer service & maybe better food. I say better food cuz that experience is based more on the employees bad attitude then the food. Would I come here again? Maaaaaaaybe, But if I see the same lady in the front... most likely not.3 stars would be average but BUTCHS FAILS TO BE EVEN AVERAGE...

We decided to get sandwiches to go. We were still looking at the menu board when the older lady with a ponytail pretty much rushed us to put our order in. She was kinda rude in the beginning and seemed to be annoyed if we took a second too long. After she took the order I realized she didn't give us our ticket to call out when the order is ready. I went up to the counter to let her know and she got more annoyed it seemed. She even was rude with the other customer after us and we both acknowledged her rudeness. It was only when the order was ready and we paid, she was then pleasant to us. l get it that a lot of businesses are short staffed and may be dealing with trying to stay afloat but there is no excuse for poor customer service. She really should change that attitude if the place doesn't want to get reviews like this. By the way, the sandwiches (I had the chicken salad sandwich), pasta salad and potato salad were ok but...

This place was ok but I was hoping for more since they have been around for so many years. I tried to go there on a Sunday just after 4pm but was rudely greeted with "we close at 4" even though the hours on Google show they close at 7pm. I mentioned this but they kind of just blew me off. I went there the next day at the same time but called ahead to make sure they were open and they were. Fool me once...you know. I ordered a large Italian and a large macaroni salad but was told they were out of macaroni salad so I ordered a large potatoe salad instead. While waiting for my order I noticed another person who came in after me place an order for macaroni salad and got macaroni salad. Odd. Long story short, the potato salad was not very good and the Italian was just ok. I ordered it how it is on the menu but without onions. If I ever decide to give them one more try, I will try the sandwich with oil and vinegar instead of...
