I’ve been a customer at Georgie’s Mediterranean in Riverside since it opened and have been happy to see them grow over the years. Sadly, my recent experience has made me question if I’ll be returning.
I placed a fairly simple order for four people, something I’ve done many times before. Penny, the cashier, had difficulty taking the order — communication was a struggle, but we eventually managed. Unfortunately, one meal was missing when I got home.
When I called back, I was simply told by Penny that I would need to drive back to pick up the missing order — no apology, no attempt at a solution, just “that’s all I can do.” I explained, very politely, that it was a 30-minute detour in 95-degree heat and that it would leave part of my group waiting or one person eating alone. I asked to speak to a manager to see if we could find a reasonable resolution — even just a refund for the missing meal.
Shockingly, Penny said there was no one available who could help, no one who could issue a refund, and refused to escalate. After I asked for her name and informed her I would be leaving this review, she suddenly put someone named Jose on the phone, who told me he made the chicken and I could come pick it up.
It was like being in the Twilight Zone. A complete breakdown in customer service, poor communication, and absolutely no accountability. Extremely disappointing from a place I’ve supported for years.

Read moreFinally made it out to Georgies for dinner tonight and it was sooo good! I was nervous to try it because I'm kind of picky with my Mediterranean food but it exceeded my expectations! When I first walked in there were a few people in front of me and a couple of young guys working behind the counter. They were dealing with an extremely annoying customer in front of me but they kept their cool so kudos to them!
As for food I ordered a chicken shwarma wrap, regular fries and the regular hummus. I like tomatoes and onion in my wraps so I asked them to add that for me. The food took about 15 minutes to come out and it came with a pita wrap on the side and a garlic dipping sauce as well. The chicken seasoning was ON POINT! So flavorful and juicy! The hummus was creamy and light almost like it was whipped. The garlic dipping sauce with fries is a must try combo.
The outdoor seating is really nice and the staff was working hard to keep the eatery clean. One staff member was wiping everything down for the majority of the time we were there.
If I HAD to critique one thing it would be that their fountain drink dispenser needs a more thorough cleaning. I got sprite and every time I tried to fill it there were tiny black specs floating around so I'm hoping they'll address that.
Overall an excellent addition to the neighborhood and I will definitely...
Read moreMy first visit. Cashier was unfriendly to me. I watched her smile at others, but frowned at me. Maybe that's how her face looks. Anyway, I ordered a chicken kabob bowl with lettuce. I got a chicken kabob bowl with rice. IUpon returning my order, I was told next time order a Mediterranean salad, which cost more, when I wanted a bowl with lettuce. I offered to pay for an extra pita bread, but was told no pita bread even comes with the bowl at all. They reluctantly removed the rice, reluctantly gave me pita bread, and exchanged the rice for the lettuce that I asked for, with no salad dressing that I was willing to pay for. The workers were very unfriendly and seemed like I wasn't welcomed to patronize their business. I kept being polite trying to understand why I was being treated like I had a disease on my face or something. No worries. I won't ever purchase food there again. Not that they'll care, but I thought I'd let the public know. Hopefully your experience will be better than mine. Thumbs down on this business in the beautiful Canyon Crest Towne Center in the neighborhood...
