Lava Coal-Fired Pizza — Restaurant in Riverside

Been here a few times now and the pizza has been amazing. I got the margarita pizza the first time and then a “build your own” next with their pesto sauce (which is made from scratch!). They know how to properly cook a pizza, and their coal fired oven gives their pizza crust buttery/smoked notes. I love the fact that their pizza dough is handmade and the cheeses they use are flavorful (try the 4 cheese pizza which has goat cheese, mozzarella, provolone and Parmesan). It’s family owned and operated, you can tell they value quality of their craft. I hope to see their little restaurant grow and be able to design the interior to match the great food they make. DELICIOUS!!! I can honestly say 1 of the best pizzas I've had. We will DEFINITELY be returning for more pizza in the future. First time trying this place out and it was good as soon as I walked in. The employees were so welcoming and nice. They let me sample a dessert pizza while I waited for my order. It was amazing! I ended up ordering one to go. We got 2 classic pizzas and an Italian white pizza along with an raspberry cheese dessert pizza and man ol man!!!! Everything was sooooo good! I highly recommend. You will not be disappointed! Relatively new pizza place not far from the Hunter Park Metrolink Station and the University. Came here for a quick bite for lunch since it was on my way to the station. Really loved the mesquite wood fired flavor of the pizza. Prices are good for the size of the pizza. The prices are for 12" pizzas, which seemed much bigger and should be good enough to split for 2 for most people. I only finished half a pizza and ended up taking the other half home for dinner.
