Many years ago, before they moved to this new, comparatively huge store, as compared to the old location, the prices were great! Since the move, like many of the sensible reviewers have said, the prices are right up there with regular retail, maybe 10% less. Unless it is a sale day and the particular item is listed specifically, there's no deal. I am well aware of the charitable contributions "Habitat for Humanity" has provided and meant for so many families. It really is a wonderful endeavor! However, after browsing the resale store one is left almost insulted. It may feel like you've been lied to. Unless, of course, the item is on a sale day and is specifically listed. For instance, recently bathroom accessories were on sale for 75% off the marked price! I brought a shower curtain rod, the kind that gives you a couple extra inches to move around in, to the cashier and they would not give me the discount because it was not listed specifically on the sale flyer. However, "light bulbs" were on sale. as well. They had many different types, flourescent, incandesant , L.E.D. types, spot, general room and all of the different type bases. None of which were specifically listed on the flyer, None. Just light bulbs. Every bulb I bought, no matter the type , I paid the discounted price! Great savings! Toilet paper roll dispenser was not listed either. I dont know about other folks, but I do know I have never installed or used a shower curtain rod nor a t.p. dispenser anywhere else but a bathroom. If a store has merchandise on the shelves, one is apt to think it is for sale. However, if the item has no price on it, they will not sell it to you. So, two stars for the great price on the sale day. Minus 3 stars for...
Read moreI first think 4 stars is a rating to be proud of, but can understand that you want to always strive for 5. On three different times in your store I was interested in items that were not priced. One was a wood trim quarter circle about 7 feet in length, item #2 was a box set CD country music, and the 3 was most recent dryer ducting. All 3 times I could not buy the items most recently was told they could call me about the price which never happened. Okay nbd, you guys are busy...I asked where or if I could donate some very old but new in boxes light fixtures and about a 100 padlocks with keys, the manager told me yeah leave it at the back, I went shopping first and when I went to drop it the door was 3\4 shut , the manager I'm guessing at lunch...and no one to ask for a receipt. The worst thing though was one time after shopping I thought I had left my card at home. I'm searching and the girl as I'm running to my car asks the manager something like can we let her come back....he says oh no, not her. . ..I'm a little taken aback, return from my car with my card...and he's standing with the checkout girl showing her something on his tablet, I'm assuming my Yelp review. Soooo, that explains why he's dissmissive and aloof ...and it explains why I avoid him at all costs. I still love the store= I just think maybe if the manager would stop hating me for my honest opinion.. .then 5 stars would...
Read moreThis place is hit or miss on prices. Some items are priced at retail, but then you'll find other stuff that is discounted. I suggest you follow them on social media so you can be notified of inventory and sales. Their sales are usually great and that's the time to buy. They always have furniture and Amazon paint (in neutral colors everyone would use). This place occasionally gets kitchen cabinets which seem to be priced well if you want to remodel your kitchen. The challenge is having the pieces you need. Every time I go, I like to look at their doors and chandeliers because they are so eclectic. Some of the furniture is still new in the box and then there is donated furniture. Damaged furniture pieces are typically repairable if you have a handy side. I give this place 3 stars because of their pricing, which often matches retail unless their is a large sale. Their customer service is...
