I arrived I told the host that we were a party of 7 and a baby. The host did mention that an 18% gratuity would be added to the bill because we had a party of 8. He then asked how old his the baby he is 8 months. The host says he will ask his manager if the baby counts as the 8th person. Either way we were still going to eat there. Before the host sits us down he said he spoke to his manager and said we won’t be charged the 18% because of the baby. We were seated the food was good when the bill came we were charged the 18% gratuity when I asked about it the server said because the baby is over 6 months and can eat solid foods the 18% was on the bill. I was simply trying to explain to her that just because he can eat solid food does not mean we were feeding an 8 month old baby shrimp and crab legs AND your host took it upon himself to ask a manager if our party still had to pay the 18% then came back and told us “No you won’t be charged the 18%” and we still get it on our bill it would only make sense to question it. The server became very condescending saying “I have a kid too”…ok and. She was waving her hands around saying “what are you gonna do about it” her manager had to physically restrain her. She continued to make comments while we spoke to a manager. The server escalated the entire situation as I said before we were going to eat there 18% gratuity or not. My party and I still left a gratuity because we are not those kind of people or as the server called us “so low”. Very unprofessional made us feel very...
Read moreim so addicted to this place! i hope they stay in business for a long time... i came back here multiple times in different days, im so addicted to their FULL HOUSE FLAVOR! be careful, for those who has high cholesterol i admit, i've never tried boiling crab before bec. its too far and everytime i step foot there, i had to wait.. my cousin says this is close to boiling crab, so that'll be my next goal.
the service is quick, everytime i go here.. menu is already on the table, i think one of the waitress there already knows me, cuz when i accidentally ordered clams --- frozen, she thought i meant crawfish!
this time i ordered with appetizers, the sweet potato fries, is just right.. not too sweet and not too salty either.. their clam chowder is really good, very creamy compared to other clam chowder's i've tasted (most of them their potatoes are in big cubes), the potatoes are mashed, added with crushed bisquits.. ooh wee! its sooo good! but be careful, its too hot! even after eating a pound of shrimp and crawfish, the clam chowder is still hot, think i burned my tongue ;P
one thing, that turns me off is they dont do half a pound, how is that? at least give your customers some options.
if you're waiting for the menu, its right on top of...
Read moreWhere do I start, im ecstatic but at the same time a little disappointed 😞. I was really trying to find a place so that I dont have to drive all the way from Moval to Rowland heights to get boiling crab.😩. When I got to star crab we waited about 20 min, hence there was only one server. The waiter was lovely and very hospitable. Not to throw any shade but I ordered 1 lb of the full house flavor shrimp all flavors mixed: butter cajun, lemon pepper and another flavor I dont remember 3 potatoes, 1 corn, sausage, rice on the side and an order of sweet potato fries and sadly i out of the whole order I liked my sweet potato fries most 😕. Maybe Im just used to boiling crab..im sure the food at star crab is good but if you're looking something close to boiling crab, this isn't it...the sauce in their boil bag has a different taste, its good but thats it...also the pricing seemed a little too much for me, unless the prices went up due to inflation, we paid 99 dollars and cents for 2 adults and 1 child...i believe I wouldve spent 76 dollars at boiling crab. Other than that thank you for your generous service...
