WINGERS Restaurant — Restaurant in Riverton

5 Star food, 1 Star service. My girlfriend and I come in quite regularly (once every couple weeks) and we have not had any problems until tonight. We are both poor young adults who are just trying to have a good night out and this was one of our favorite places. I put this as a preface because we don't usually tip a lot. I know that will make us look bad, and I will admit I was embarrassed to be called out for it, the problem was the manner in which it happened.

We showed up to the restaurant and we were seated promptly, which we were happy with. Our server ( the name on our receipt is LaCheal) who I believe is either the night manager or head server comes up to "greet" us. No sooner than she shows up she says, "I know that you two come in often (so thanks we are recognized as regulars) and we've noticed that you haven't been leaving tips. (There have been maybe 1 or 2 times that we were not able to afford the tip) And I don't know if you know this but gratuity is REQUIRED here. If you aren't going to tip then you'll have to take your food to-go instead. Do you still want to stay here or leave now?"

I was so shocked at first that I just apologized and ordered drinks. But after she left and I had time to think about how disrespectfully she treated us I became outraged. I was polite the rest of the night and the food was even better than usual, but I was unable to get past the way we were harassed and threatened.

We had had a mediocre experience about a year ago, and decided to give it another shot and the place was so amazing the food was so good and the people work so hard to please us we've been back maybe seven or eight times in the last 2 months between takeout and dine-in. All I can say is, give it a shot. We order the wings extra crispy and they do an amazing job with them. Food: I’ve only had the wings and fries there. There wings cooked just right, moist inside and slight crunch on the outside. Their spicy ghost Pepper was pretty hot, kinda lingers so I suggest eating it after the other sauces. Classic buffalo wings , exactly the title, your classic buffalo wing. I’d like to go back and try their other sauces.

Loved the garlic Parmesan fries, garlic salt and slightly garnished with shaves of Parmesan cheese. So yum.

Service: love that the server immediately served us a courtesy bowl of popcorn to snack and chat while waiting. Jacque was our server. My second time having her and she still very upbeat, pleasant personality with a comfortable Aurora about herself. She even went out of her way to ask us if we’d like to change the t.v channel.

Atmosphere: a typical sports bar and grill feel. Place was clean. I noticed the tables were immediately cleaned after customers exited out. The place is small and cozy.
