Brought my father here for a family dinner when he was visiting from out of town. He wanted Egg Foo Young and I saw online they had it on their menu. When they brought it to him, we thought they had mistakenly handed him someone else's meal because there were a bunch of toppings on there he didn't recognize and he said it didn't look like egg foo young. After digging through and finding the egg foo young, he seemed less than enthused about the dish (although he didn't complain or say anything). I ordered a chicken teriyaki bento box. I likewise was not thrilled with my meal. The chicken was a breast that had been grilled and sliced up. Not the usual dark meat that I prefer for teriyaki chicken. The sauce was horrible. It was more like soy sauce than sweet teriyaki sauce. I liked the tempera vegetables but the section of bento box they were placed in had some liquid in it; and I had to move them so they wouldn't get soggy. The fried rice was a bit dry. Most dishes come with white rice and you must pay more if you want fried rice. My bento box came with 4 slices of a California roll. It was just ok. I ate two and shared the others with my daughter who had been asking for sushi. The egg drop soup was just okay. It literally looked like only two ingredients were in it. I've had better elsewhere. My husband had sweet and sour chicken. I liked it because it was fried where it had a nice crisp and the sauce was delicious. The server was nice, attentive, and brought us a tray of sugared donut holes for dessert. This is our second time eating here in all the years we have lived in the Salt Lake Valley. You might like it or you might not. It wasn't my favorite Chinese food so I don't recommend it. I didn't take pictures of any food as I wasn't...
Read moreHave never tried Fortune Cookie before. My girlfriend and I were craving Chinese so we decided to give it a try. We just wanted take out. Didn't feel like a sit down. So my review goes based off that.
First off, they forgot the pot stickers and one of my sides of rice. The first thing I tasted was the Pon Pon chicken which began as redeeming but the sauce quickly became overpowering and was quite earthy. After that was the Lo Mein which was mediocre at best. Wasn't the worst but it was just bland. NOW I will tell you the worst one. The crispy beef...
It seriously tasted like overbaked bread rolled in sweetener. No meat whatsoever, and it stunk...It honestly smells quite burnt. So all in all I didn't get all that I payed for, and the food was SERIOUSLY lackluster. I'd say its not worth spending on this place. I'd rather eat at Panda which is really saying something...
Since I just got take out I will only be rating on the food and service. Which gets a 1 and a 3. They were quite nice but losing out on food always sucks. And the food just really didn't have any...
Read moreI have been to a handful of Chinese restaurants in the valley and I would say most disappoint. This one is located near my work and makes for a great lunch visit. Their lunch specials are very reasonably priced and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. Sometimes even recommending changes or tweaks to our orders. The food is good and overall I would recommend this location. It is not the best Chinese food out there, but I don't particularly think Utah is the center of good Chinese food. As with most of my reviews I like to make it clear that for me my reviews are based a lot around value, but I also am pretty picky and rarely give 5 stars. For service I would give them a 5 for their friendliness. For the value of the food I would also give them a 5. For me though since Chinese is my least favorite Asian cuisine it is hard for me to give them a 5 for food. I would happily give it a 4. Keep in mind that I don't think I have ever rated a Chinese restaurant...
