I have been going to Jersey Mike's since they opened in MD. Moved close to roanoke rapids and was happy to see they had one. Tried twice in 5 years and last time it was the worst of the two times. First one working the slicing and sandwich part one was in back only doing grill if any orders for. I ordered two subs . One iltalian sub and one steak and cheese.i told the lady I wanted Mike's way on the iltalian and can I tell you when steak and cheese comes out or now ,what I would like on that. She says can tell when done. The lady behind by grill took her time putting steak and onions on grill like a 5 min delay from getting order. When the girl finally finished doing the iltalian sib I came over to ask for extra onions . She was doing multiple subs and bowls. Still cooking steak and cheese which by now is going on 15mins. Finally after about 20 mins my sub came out wrapped up . Nothing on it because I haven't told her , so I asked if I can get stuff on it and the lady grilling said the slip didn't have nothing so no they couldn't put anything on it. The lady doing the cold cut side said she could give in containers of topping. So she put all the topping in individual containers. Blows my mind. Even at one point said you can put together in one, but with no response.. total time was like 39 to 35 mins. Actually had three working but one girl just walked around doing little things or just standing there. She came in around 10 mins, At one point. After all that they were still the worst subs I ever had again for the...
Read moreOverall, I love Jersey Mike's. The subs are always fresh and always WAY better than the local subways. Yeah, it's more pricey depending on what you get, but you get what you pay for. Presentation of the food isn't always the best I understand your just getting a sub but it usually isn't on the sub bread, like all on the bottom the top half on results in a lot of it falling out and making a mess. I can say the service is always on point. Everyone is usually nice and attentive. Atmosphere being a low point here because it's always 50/50, everyone is being respectful and ordering their food and waiting patiently. Or like last night where you have women with their children running and screaming through a restaurant that is literally a wide hallway, and the staff doing absolutely nothing about until the child ran into the kitchen. The staff told her she couldn't be in there, at that point the mother finally got her child to sit down, after probably 20 minutes of her running back and forth and the mother just telling her to it. Just one fine example of what to expect. I have a daughter that is almost 2 myself so I know how kids can be, but you also have to give an effort if you want them to listen, or at the absolutely least destract them for the time being. Would I recommend going here? Yes, try it, at least. Good...
Read moreLet's start with being prepared to dodge a parking lot with faded lines, cars parked where ever they wanted to and trash everywhere.
On to being in the store, with 4 or 5 people, not a one had a smile, or said hello, just a "want you want". A little shocking but okay, no biggie. But then to have eyes rolled when my teenage daughter asked for a gluten free sub, and being told we couldn't order it for at least 30 mins due to them "being too busy" and one of them wants to go on break on 15 mins to come back. At the time they had 4 subs they were finishing working on for a pick up order (ticket was visible) and a customer in store waiting patiently his sub. It was about 645pm on Weds the 27th of August.
While I know some folks think that gluten free is a faded, some folks like my daughter are celiac and have to be gluten free or they will get very ill. Her top place to eat when traveling is Jersey Mike's for a #66. It's disappointing as this JM's is on a well traveled route for us, but unfortunately the super rude employees will prevent us from stopping. There is another one an hour north on I95 and one about 40 miles south on I95, if you are looking for a Jersey Mike's, or if you just need food there is plenty of food with in a quarter of...
