The owner was exceptionally rude. Not a good place at all to eat unless you want to be abused by immature people...
Please note...........This is an edit and is a response to what the owner of Bad Wolf BBQ said to me below.....Sir, I have never been to Roanoke before, much less ever pulled into your parking lot (which shares the lot with other adjoining businesses.) I drive a very large cargo van which has a very wide turning ratio and doesn’t fit into smaller spaces. That problem was compounded because it was less than two days after it had snowed more than a foot in the Roanoke area, making parking much more difficult.
When I pulled into your drive-thru my focus was on not running into anyone else’s car. It was by complete accident that I parked in your drive thru and I explained that to you when you came outside. You were hostile towards me but I did not return your hostility and instead apologized to you and then very quickly moved my van. Then I came inside your restaurant because I wanted to buy some food and because I wanted to ask if you all wanted to participate in a program that helps very sick children. The first person (employee) I spoke with was a nice guy. Then as I turned around, you were standing there yelling at me and ordering me out of your storefront.
You said in your response to me that, according to you, I was doing “some kind of a scam.” What that implies is that you don’t know anything at all about what I do or about the nationally registered 501c3 organization that I do work for. All of this leads me to believe that you have an extremely judgmental perspective of other people and you go through life being very hostile towards others. A lot. It also leads me to believe that you are abusive towards your employees and no one deserves to be pushed around that way by you.
Anyway, that’s all I’m gonna say. I wish you well and I hope you find peace in your life and start treating people better. If you do that, life will become far better for you. But that is totally up to you and you have to be the person to make...
Read moreA decent quality BBQ with a pleasant atmosphere. Clean environment and polite wait staff. The lunch specials are reasonably priced with a fair portion. I tried the BBQ plate, cajun fries, and slaw, then finished with the Wolf Brownie Delight. The BBQ, with tomato base, had very good flavor - slightly sweet and pleasantly smokey. The meat texture was very tender, though it had a slight dryness, like it may have been in a warmer too long. Overall, it was flavorful and tasted like a home-made sauce. Pretty good. The fries were typical fries. They did appear to be fresh cut, and like other fresh cut fries, tended toward being a bit limp and soggy. Despite that, they were not overly greasy and the Cajun seasoning was good. The slaw was a simple shredded cabbage and dressing. Using as a condiment on a BBQ sandwich, it would be perfect. Not adding too many conflicting flavors to the meat and bread. As a stand-alone side, it is a little plain or bland. As diners in this area are mixed about eating the slaw as a side or on the sandwich, I think this recipe is a good compromise that meets both needs. In-House BBQ sauce was quite good. Both the Hot & Mild. Hot was not overly spicy, but had enough heat to provide a nice tingle on the tongue without overpowering the sauce flavors. The tomato base is not completely masked by other spices and seasonings, which provides a nice change to mass produced sauces. The Wolf Brownie Delight, a brownie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce, whipped cream and cherry. Nothing particularly outstanding, just a standard brownie.
Summary, the food was good with a pleasant atmosphere. The in-house sauce is a nice change from the norm, good enough I bought some to take home for the family to try. Prices are reasonable and food of satisfactory flavor and quality that I would be willing to go back to try other...
Read moreOur son wanted pizza, and for some odd reason, we had trouble locating pizza restaurants, and the one we found was takeout only. Walking back to the car, we saw the sign for Bad Wolf Bar b q and decided to walk there. Our first thought, as we approached, is that it looked closed. We tried the door and it opened so we went inside. We were met with an extremely beautiful smile from a friendly young lady. It wasn't busy the day we went, but we felt it had a great atmosphere, and the layout was unique. My wife and I ordered the pulled pork with her having the double fries and myself having the baked beans and Cajun Fries. Our son ordered the chicken tenders and hush puppies, well, because he loves hush puppies. Our two meals came with Cole Slaw, and it was pretty good. Was honestly better than the slaw I had the day before at another place around town. Overall, we marked Bad Wolf as a favorite place to stop the next time we are in the area. They have good food and really...
