It was 10:30PM when myself and a friend arrived. We waited almost 15 minutes to be seated because the two servers were in the kitchen and never came out to check on the 2 tables that were already seated. I ordered raspberry tea, instead of just telling me they were out they put raspberry syrup in the tea to attempt to make it. A. The tea was bad -tasted fermented. I heard another table send theirs back as well. B. You can't use pancake syrup in tea... When the server came back we were ready to order at which point I addressed the tea and asked for a milkshake. Instead of taking our order and then dealing with the drink, our server walked away with the drink, amd then personally made the milkshake before returning for our order. Which also took almost 10 mins. The server sat down in the booth across from us to take our order. Didn't make much eye contact, mumbled when she did talk, we didn't know if she was actually talking to us or herself. (A couple times she was talking to herself). The food was terrible.. Definitely didn't represent the IHOP brands I've been to in Penns., Virginia, South Carolina and California. A. Food was brought out and we had no silverware.. we had waited 40 mins at that point and we couldn't even begin eating. B. Protein was missing from first meal, so it was brought out on the second meals plate. And then the server picked it up with her fingers and put it on the correct plate. C. Toast was hard as a rock. D. Hashbrowns weren't cooked on the inside, and kind of burnt on the outside. We watched 3 more parties come in to be seated, who also stood for 5 mins waiting for a table. The third group actually went into the kitchen and asked for help. A. This group was told they couldn't have coffee bc there was none made, but they would make them some. They finally made some and then they had to ask for it 20 mins later. U. Another group came in to be seated and the servers were talking right behind us and said they weren't going to seat them because it was 11:40. Instead of letting them know, the group stood there for an additional 15 mins. A. They only left because I was on my way out and told them they weren't going to be seated. We waited 10 mins standing behind a man trying to pay at the register because they couldn't get the register to work. (I don't actually believe the register was the problem, more likely improper training). My order was "missing from the register" even though it was ordered from the tablet. After 5 mins I stated that I had an hour and a half drive home and I'm about to just leave. (I would've called today in hopes of getting someone who knew what they were doing and paid the bill).
Overall, my friend and I left completely in awe of how terrible the service was. I left a $3 courtesy tip but my friend even thought that was too much. Do better IHOP of...
Read moreIf I could give zero I would. This is based on several times coming here always hoping the next time we might get a normal experience. We don’t need exceptional , we just want served , to leave full and not to be grossed out! There is a blonde waitress that brings her toddler to work every single visit we’ve had, she runs around doing what toddlers do including going in and out of kitchen area ( dangerous much) while mummy works. Not sure why she or the bosses allow this as it violates soooo many things! Our experience with being waited on has been terrible. I was a waitress for many years and I know they get busy etc, but this isn’t the case here as it’s never been real busy and usually when service is neglected or service is brought to the attention of the server that the food was cold, not right, hair etc…not only has it never been taken off bill but never apologized for it . We love ihop and is our favorite place but this IHOP is awful. The last time we were there the little toddler running around also had her PUPPY. Yes the mother , the entire staff did nothing but enjoy this cute little puppy in the flipping restaurant and the worst part is it was in the kitchen . My mother in law visiting was so disgusted we called health department because WHO BRINGS AND ALLOW A DOG IN A FLIPPING RESTAURANT. How this place is still going , how this mother still has a job is so beyond me. So today we tried walking back into this place ( again our favorite place just not this location) with hopes it couldn’t get any worse and maybe we might get the rare simple visit as we starving and only place we knew of to sit down and have breakfast! WRONG. We stood waiting to be seated as employees walked by us and it’s as if we weren’t there . No I’ll be there soon or anything . NOTHING . After some time we just left!a For those who will read this and say “ why keep going back” etc , we will not ever return to this place as this was the icing on the cake for us to realize it’s just not gonna get better. Our visits were based over the last 2 years with months in between and each time hoping there would be changes as all restaurants are revolving doors with employees etc. currently writing this long review from up the street at Central Diner Grille as we found they do breakfast and it was fantastic...
Read moreSo we went to this IHOP on 10/6/24 & needless to say this place was TRASH 🗑️🚮... Understanding that the host was also the ONLY waiter and buss boy was crazy, legitimately felt bad for him as he was taking care of 9 tables with all tables with 2-4 people at the same time checking people in.
Little context this was also after a Steelers game but around 2:30am. It wasn't busy but for one person I can understand how that person will feel overwhelmed, he tried his best but it took 15 minutes to get waters on the tables and an hour to get "two split decisions" & one egg omelette... After we waited the hour the omelette order was wrong and the gentleman wanted to rectify the situation by saying to give the kitchen 10 more minutes but we weren't buying it .. took basically one hour and fifteen minutes to get our food there's no way it was going to take 10 minutes to make another order.
Now the worse part was my friend who didn't get his right order for the omelette refused the one that was served to him but the waiter said he couldn't take it off the bill because he didn't have the discount card or something in that matter, honestly that's not my problem and he need it to figure it on how to take it off.. eventually he did but the experience was definitely one of the worst I had in Pittsburgh.
And is not on the waiters fault at all.. is on the ownership and establishment management that let this "cookie crumble" because if you don't have the support staff to basically support the business being open.. then make a WISE business decision & close the restaurant as it was obvious that it wasn't able to handled by one cook and one other person doing the job of 3 people.
Embarrassing for IHOP and for the management of this place to be quite honest.
Needless to say we paid our tab after he took out my friend's omelette, tipped and left hungry as food wasn't...
