This little hole-in-the-wall offers an authentic taste of Mexican cuisine with counter order of tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, fajitas, burritos, salads, combos, daily specials and so much more. The younger lady taking our order offered little to none in the form of friendly greeting or interaction. The interior is a festive display of colorful, traditional memorabilia decorating nearly every square inch of walls and ceiling. A couple narrow rows of heavy wood chairs and tables run down the middle with a padded booth separated with two tables in the back. Outdoor seating is a few tables in a cart like patio with a ramp. Besides delivering the food, you are on your own. Soda machine upfront for drinks and water, salsa bar offering a nice selection of salsas and sauces, and even a station to get your own silverware when the same young lady from the counter brings your food and nothing else. The Pico de Gallo and the medium mediana was fresh and went nice with the small bowl of chips that they bring you. My combo of a supreme burrito and taco was also a good serving of authentic, made from scratch cooking with plenty of ingredients and flavor. Prices can be a bit spendy as one combo, a lunch special and a soda was over $28. Anything extra does come as a cost. But the food and the...

Went to this restaurant 10/30/20, i have never been there before.. When i walked in i seen alot of stuff on the walls, all pertaining to the mexican culture. There was a waitress standing at the cash register, just staring at us, no greeting, no direction on how we were suppose to order, nothing. I had to ask if we were suppose to grab a menu and sit down. She pointed to the menu above her and said rudely look at that and ill take your order here. The menu on the wall doesn't have any prices listed. We ordered, she gave us our cups, and little cups for salsa. The hot and mild salsas both tasted the same for spiciness. Presentation of the food looked nice, food was hot, lettuce was cold. I ordered the 4 taquitos plate, husband ordered carne asada plate. My taquitos were chicken, chicken was bland, didnt have any flavor but the chicken was juicy, it was not dry! Rice had good flavor but it was alittle dry. The refried beans were the best off the plate, amazing flavor. The guacamole had good flavor as well. The carne asada plate, the meat had some flavor, meat was juicy. Refried beans were good and rice was a little dry but good flavor... Overall-- customer service/waitress needs works to be friendlier and with some direction. Food was ok.. I would go back to try...

First off their mild and medium sauces suck.the mild taste like a canned sauce and doesn't taste very good, and the medium is the mild sauce with a Pico de Gallo added to the sauce. Second the tortilla chips seem fried there but they are too heavy with oil. My daughter's food was so sloppily put together on the plate didn't even look appetizing. The worst part about it, one of the servers was taking the knife and fork wrapped up in a napkin to a table with a group of people. One of these folded up napkins fell on the floor. She looked around and then instead of putting it in the tub with dirty dishes she handed it out to the group that was completely oblivious. You cannot give people silverware and paper napkin that has fallen on the floor for them to use to eat. Just gross period. And the price for the quality of food was ridiculous. I grew up eating authentic Mexican food and this place sucks. I really wanted to like it especially since those that cook and serve the food are Latinos like myself, but poor excuse for...

"Hidden gem in Rochester! Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you - El Carambas Taqueria is a delightful surprise inside. The interior is well-decorated and comfortable, creating a welcoming atmosphere. A standout feature is their unique salsa bar. You get chips and can choose from a buffet-style selection of salsas, allowing you to try different combinations and find your perfect match. We tried the fish tacos, which were delicious, and the fried ice cream for dessert was a perfect sweet finish. The rice water was an authentic touch that added to the overall experience. The prices are reasonable - our meal for two, including two entrées, guacamole, two specialty drinks, and dessert, came to around $50 (about $25 per person). The friendly environment and attentive service made our visit even more enjoyable. If you're looking for authentic Mexican cuisine in Rochester with good value for money, this place is a must-try. Highly recommended!"

Lunch is decent price wise., dinner is overpriced for what you get compared to other places. This place had probably the worst burritos i have had at a mexican place. My partner had a burrito supreme, I had the chicken chimichanga. Both were bland and each had MAYBE an ounce of chicken each. For $11-$13...sorry... step it up. Also, both baskets, the free chips were all smashed (making them functionally inedible). The only real positive was the food was brough out in under 3 minutes, but thinking about it, that might be a bad thing...) This was all on a Sunday night at 630 with an empty restaurant.
