Denny's — Restaurant in Rochester

Consistently Poor service. We quit going to this location 2 years ago because of slow service but decided to give them another try today. We will not be going back, ever. Even though it was Sunday morning and most Denny's restaurants are at their busiest, this one had about 1/3 of their tables occupied when we got there. Despite that, our waitress took a very long time to come take our orders. I do not think it was because she had other tables to worry about. She was just slowly shuffling around and appeared to be in a daze. When she finally took our orders our coffee was empty. She left without refilling them, and didn't come back. My wife tracked her down and asked for more coffee. When the food arrived, my wife's order was wrong. But, since nobody came to the table to ask how we were doing, we would have had to go find someone to tell. It was too much trouble, so she ate the wrong omelette. After our meal, we did go hunt down the waitress to get our check.

On another topic, the entrance to the restaurant is poorly designed. The "please wait to be seated" sign is right inside the door and at the same place as the cash register. This causes the people to line up waiting to be seated in the same place as people line up to pay. There was much confusion in this tiny space, and they have ample waiting area just off...

Please take my advice and do not go here.

I typically like Denny's but the experience last night, I probably wouldn't go back.

We were there for my father-in-laws 55th birthday. We ordered our food just fine. When the food came out however, not only had the female waitress (who sported an emo vibe with a bird skull choker necklace and gaged out earings) screw our food order up all to heck but tried giving my son eggs (severely allergic). Our water was empty for over half of our stay (we actually had to share other peoples water around the table)and when she went to give us the bill then she had asked if we needed more. The staff made themselves very invisible to the public.

They were not busy at the time of this occurance (maybe 5 people total other than our crew of 7).

Absolutely horrible customer service was presented last night. When addressed the waitress just laughs and says "whoops". The company should be ashamed to hire people who really don't care for their customers.

We still left a decent tip for her but I was not happy about it. Tips...

Staff were 5 stars. Service and good was wonderful. We got our food quickly despite the restaurant being quite full and busy. Our waitress has wonderful purple eye makeup with rhinestones! ** The reason for my lower rating is that this the newer Denny’s in town and the booth seats were taped up, the ceiling was torn out due to a leak and the lighting look precariously hanged. My young child was scared of the taped areas of the booth and the gaping holes i the ceiling. The biggest issue: We parked close to the building and there were empty shooter alcohol bottles and a used needle! I know Rochester has a problem… but there was a ton of trash in the parking lot very close to the building besides a lot of alcohol bottle and the used needle: winter gloves, masks, a comb, straws, broken pieces of plastic. I had to give my young child explicit instructions not to touch anything in the parking lot. Please sweep up your parking spots… they’re right outside the building. DENNY’S corp - please get this place new...
