We stayed here for a few weeks while my mom was being treated at St Mary's Hospital. It was very convenient to be right across the street from her. Parking was free and close. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. One of the housekeepers commented that we had been here a long time, and I told him my mom was in the hospital. I'm sure that is the case with a lot of people who stay here because of the location, but every time we saw him after that he asked how she was doing and I thought that was really kind. The rooms were kind of small but clean and had modern decor, and I felt safe at all times. The guest laundry facility was so convenient-staying here for so long I had to use it a few times. I didn't use the fitness room, but it had a few different machines that looked new, a water dispenser, and a big bathroom. The breakfast area was spacious and bright. There was a decent variety of foods to choose from. There are several restaurants and coffee/tea places within walking distance. There is a free shuttle that goes to Mayo Clinic. There are free cookies and hot beverages in the lobby every day. On the second floor there is a beautiful patio with lots of seating and flowers. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of natural light in the rooms. In order to have light from outside, you have to open the floor to ceiling curtains along the side of your room that faces the hallway. They do have sheers in addition to the heavy drapes that you can close for a little bit of privacy while still getting some light, but I felt too exposed so just kept the drapes closed. But that is really my only complaint and I would stay here again. During a stressful time for our family this was a peaceful place for us to come back to each evening after spending our days at...
Read moreMy husband had doctoring and surgery at the Mayo Clinic and St Mary’s Hospital. This hotel was very convenient. We arrived later in the evening and almost went to the newer looking hotel next to it since the name is similar. Parking is in back and very squished. The front desk worker was always nice and the cookies in the evening were a nice touch. Howard was our person that took care of our room. He did an outstanding job and was so friendly. The beds were comfortable and the is an abundance of pillows. We had no problem with the hall being between our door and window to outside. And we didn’t hear noise in the hallway. The breakfast did not include anything like pancakes or waffles. It could sister if pastries, cereal, fruit and oatmeal bars. Nothing spectacular. We were in the top (6th) floor. Water pressure for the shower was not much. We heard a consistent rushing of water thru the pipes all night long. We put it off since we got there late and then my husband stayed in the hospital. I covered my head with a pillow and used earplugs. When my husband was released we wanted to stay an extra night to be close to the hospital just in case. The water was terrible whooshing thru the pipes. At 1:30 am we were packed up and leaving for home. The desk person apologized and said that she couldn’t give us a refund for that night. When we arrived home, I remembered I left my personalized yeti cup there and called and asked them to mail it to me. She remembered who I was and said that they had my credit card still and verified my address and would send it. I never received it and when I called 2 weeks later that didn’t have a clue and said that they would need to talk to the worker. That was 2 weeks ago and I have never heard anything else. An ok hotel but a little...
Read moreTo begin, I called what I thought was the hotel. The number was on the website. I even asked if I had the correct hotel across the street from the Mayo Clinic. They said I did. I requested a specific rate. They told me what it was. I explained that it sounded high as we had been there a couple of times over the last couple of months. They said that was the price. I paid it. We arrived at the hotel less than 24 hours later. We waited 10 minutes before someone came to the desk. I asked again about the rate. They wrote down the rate. I paid well over what I should have. They said they couldn't do anything about it and gave me a number to call. They wouldn't answer my questions. They would not let me talk to a supervisor. I was clearly not provided correct information. I was told someone would call me. No one called me. I got an email with a ticket number. I asked for a call back. I got an email that said 10 percent would be credited back to my account, which was still nowhere near the difference. No one ever called me. Clearly, there was no care in customer service. If you call for reservations, make sure you call the actual building and not their general hotel reservation line. Parking was challenging. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The location was perfect for my needs, the Hospital is directly across the street. There is a good...
