A'mis Pizza — Restaurant in Rock Hill

I used to love going to Amis, but our last expierence was tragic. There were 4 of us and it was a busier night so they sat our party in the other room. Got the menus took our drink order as ler usual. Got our sodas/waters and placed our appetizer and food order. Instructed said apps to come out prior to our meal. Took a minute but the server started to bring out our main courses prior to the appetizers, we got 2 pizzas(stl and ny style) an alfredo and a lasagna. The 2 pizzas came out 1st, then the alfredo came out. The alfredo was served with a broken white sauce, unedible. Then we got our appetizers minutes later. We sent the Alfredo pasta back and declined any other food for that member. The NY style was beyond greasy(we eat alot of pizza and this had a soup of greese and it was just cheese). The STL style wasnt even stl style it was just the same NY style cheese on thin crust, 0 Provel. The sever kept coming around insisting the final lasagna dish would be out soon. Time kept passing by. Everyone was finished when finally the lasagna came out. The server did offer a bar drink to comp for the extreme time waisted waiting on the Lasagna. The Lasagna was good, however over an hour to get Lasagna and eating after everyone is finished is unacceptable. For the people saying this is the best pizza i feel sorry for your pallet. The pizza was bowling alley level at best. And the pasta was batting a 50% F grade. Not sure what happened...

What an excellent surprise. They don't show up when you google "New York" or "Brooklyn" style pizza and that is a real shame because their pizza blows away the other choices in the area regarding those styles. I haven't even tried their STL, Detroit or Chicago style pizzas! Oh but I will because their other pizza was absolutely awesome.

Now on to something just as important: service. I made a mistake, not the restaurant. I wont say what happened because I dont want any one trying to get free stuff from these great people. Never-the-less, they took care of me after we came to a deal that was heavily to my benefit despite my protests lol. But they were so nice and felt bad for me. Wait. The latter might not be a good thing HA!

Anywho, you could tell every one working there was happy to be there or at least satisfied enough to seem that way. Even when the woman at the counter went back to tell the cooks what was going on, they smiled and said "no problem". They were quiet about it. Not like they wanted the customers to hear. It was just a conversation they were having and was 100 percent genuine. Plus one of the chefs was the one to bring me my pizzas and he apologized to me like they made the mistake. I couldn't get over how far they went to satisfy me. I am now a customer for life!

And again, the pizza was absolutely awesome. I cannot way to try other pizza styles and other food there. I now work close by. I am about...

Update: 2.23.2018 last post was 9 months ago. Haven’t been since. Wanted some good pasta. Again... what we got was great tasting. Came very quick too. But I ordered a pasta with grilled chicken added and the chicken was skipped. Same as below. Small details but consistently missing. We are not turned away permanently because of the food taste but man they got some work to do on finishing the details.

9 months earlier: 5for food 1 for timing/accuracy. First let me say we love the food! Pizza, salad, wings, sandwiches, etc and the staff is polite and helpful. All good!

But....

Between delivery, carry out and dine-in combined about 12 experiences total and 5 or 6 times something has been off. Both times I've gotten carry out it came out way late based off time suggested over phone. Sat in dining room too long upon arrival with some food ready and the rest cooking. This last time I had to have the pizza rewarmed waiting on appetizers. Recent delivery they forgot a baked potato with entree. Not big deal and they brought it quickly after calling. But the very next time time it was the au jus for roast beef sandwich. Again, after calling it came quickly. Still frustrating. Our only dine-in experience was decent but salad and appetizer came fast then we had a long wait in between for our entrees.

For now I'll return because we love the food but my patience will run out eventually with poor...
