Awake Coffee Company — Restaurant in Rock Island

I gave them two stars because I am a volunteer EMT/Firefighter and when in uniform at a function we stopped for a coffee break and they gave it to us on the house. Other than that, horrible. The only one that knows how to make the coffee correctly is the blonde. I use to go out of my way to get this coffee and now I go out of my way to avoid it. Atomic is MUCH better and the same price, same rewards. Also, I went the other day, 15-20 minutes before close (only because everywhere else was closed and I was desperate) and I get up to the window and 2 girls look at me, spend 5 minutes talking to each other where we can see them, and then come up to the window and said "we are closed" and closed the window and walked away. Open sign still open and time on the clock. If you're going to shut down early (which I don't understand because you can clean after your shift and shut things down then), at least turn the sign off or don't be rude to...

When we walked in, the cashier was too busy gossiping with her three BFFs to notice us waiting to order. When I finally got my muffin and went back to my office, it wasn't the chocolate muffin I ordered. I went all the way back to get the correct muffin and the girl said, "yeah, it's chocolate chip." I said I didn't order chocolate chip, I ordered a chocolate muffin. The receipt even says, "double chocolate muffin," so she clearly heard me. The girl said they were out of chocolate, so she gave me chocolate chip instead... without telling me. IT'S NOT THE SAME THING, HONEY. You'd think she could have told me they were out of chocolate? What the hell? I'm sorry, but was that too much effort for you? And then she had the nerve to act miffed that I wanted a different muffin and didn't apologize. I'm too annoyed by this experience to ever return...

I have visited this small business multiple times on my way to church and to work. Their food is top tier. I have only used the drive thru do to convenience and efficiency. I usually get a food or pastry item in addition to a hot beverage. Today, I brought my mother with me on the way to church. We ordered a Bacon, Sausage, Egg, & Cheese Biscuit, a Spinach, Egg, and Provolone English Muffin in addition to a spiced chai and latte. The only issue was that the spinach sandwich had a slice or two of deli meat and this is not mentioned on the menu. I have no issue with eating meat, but this was a pleasant surprise, especially for having vegan and vegetarian options on the menu. I hope to continue to support this business and that they have accuracy on their menu with the food that they serve to...
