Jammin Jerk Grill — Restaurant in Rockford Township

I had a burger and fries here about 6 months ago. They were good but ridiculously expensive. I've tried to eat here again, but I've never seen them open since that first visit 6 months ago, and I'm at the mall 3-4 times per week. I was there yesterday and again Jammin' Jerk Grill was closed, so I went to Sbarro's, because Sbarro's was open -- apparently THEY want my money. So the following is a review of my food from Sbarro's: I had two slices of pizza and a soda. The pizza was delicious, with a nice sweet, acidic tomato sauce, wonderful stretchy mozzarella cheese, and crispy-edged pepperoni that was perfectly salty and mildly spicy. The other slice had sausage that was thick, sweet, and well-seasoned. The crust on both was light, nicely chewy, and doughy. And the slices were HUGE -- you need to fold them in half to handle them properly. My soda was crisp and refreshing, and not overly full of ice. The Jamaican spot near me closed down. I had to pass through Rockford so I decided to give this a try.

As a heads up there is a $1.00 credit card fee. The price listed online was different from the menu board price for the items i wanted to get. At the location, the two main overhead boards had a different price for one of the items I ordered than what was rang up.

I struggle with a rating of 3 - 4. 4 because the food was tasty, made to order and warm when I got home 45 minutes later. The mild sauce is also good.

3 for the value and menu discrepancies. I didn't get the item with the menu board discrepancy, but I did get the taste of Jamaica. One line it says1/4 chicken, peas & rice, plantains and cabbage. However, there was no cabbage. The jerk chicken while tasty, is not on the bone and is done by weight. The plate was almost $18 with the service charge. I went to their Jammin jerk Grill place at 5723 N 2nd street in Loves park, and the server, Kenzie was SO amazing!! My experience here made my year (and made me cry happy tears lol). I was trying to order the jerk chicken philly, but my card declined, I didn't understand why so I went n called my mom to see how much was on there (she let me use her card). And it turns out I didn't have enough for the philly, but possibly for the jerk chicken fries! So I went back and tried again! She was very patient with me as I was attempting to pay for it, I pulled out all the money I had on me and paid.
