The wait at this Popeyes is always horrible but it's close to home and I didnt want to drive down another 20 mins to another place... so my mistake! However today not only was the wait ridiculous but the service was horrible And that is the reason for this review not even the 30 minute wait. When you place your order at the drive thru and need to repeat your order several times and when you order rice as one side and she asks red beans or cajun rice... um I'm thinking rice is rice not beans. You then ask her to repeat what she has on order so you can make sure it's right and she tells you to continue ordering you can be sure I'm checking the bag before I pull away. You then get to the window and pay only to realize she didnt ask your drink options but she doesn't come back to window so you can tell her. She instead walks around and texts on her phone and it is not until the food is ready that she finally opens window so I can finally ask about our drinks that should come with the combo and she tells me um I'm not sure let me check? She then comes back and says no you don't get a drink with your order? Um what? I ordered a combo.. let me talk with a manager to which she replied well she is the one who told me that. Seriously get the manager. Manager comes to window and says yeah you get no drink she didnt ring your combo with a drink so it was cheaper then if you'd gotten a drink? Well I ordered a combo and all combos come with drinks dont they? So why do I need to specify I want a drink? Never had to do that in the past but clearly for this girl working the drive thru you needed to. Told manager if you dont have somebody who can work register and take orders they shouldn't be doing this. To which I clearly pissed the lady off as she started back talking me to which the manager only told her to be quiet and pushed my food out the window to me and slammed window closed. Clearly this was a case where the customer was wrong and not the incompetent person working drive thru. Sad to say but I'll be taking my business to KFC... the extra drive there would probably still be less then the wait at this Popeyes and at KFC you dont have to specify combo...
Read moreI had the worst experience I’ve ever had in a drive through today at Popeyes on N 2nd street in Loves Park. My 77 year old father brought me along to go get 2 chicken tenders meals with coleslaw and mashed potatoes. First we went to the E. State street location. They were closed for maintenance ( but never updated their Google Business Profile to let others know). So then we drove another 15 mins to get to their nearest location. We arrived at 5:03 pm. I know because I texted my girlfriend right before we pulled the parking lot. We waiting for 30 mins in the drive through in 93 degree weather, waiting for someone to take our order. About 3 mins before our order was taken, we saw the cook get out of his car and go back inside. His break stopped operations for 30 mins. Of course, as past food service employee, breaks are necessary, but you shouldn’t halt operations for it and have a manager or someone else cook while your main cook is on break.
We finally start to order and the intercom system was terrible. We couldn’t hear her at all and she couldn’t hear us. She kept adding 5 pice meals instead of 8. She asked us to come to the window, so we did. (The girl working the window was very nice and polite. She did nothing wrong and deserves a raise for dealing with the mismanagement of this restaurant on the day.) after we ordered the 8 piece meal combos, she asked us for our sides. We said mashed potatoes and gravy and Cole slaw. They were OUT of mashed potatoes and gravy…at a chicken restaurant…unbelievable mismanagement. We ordered Mac and cheese instead and was charged extra for the upgrade even though they didn’t have the side we wanted. The total came to $59.76 for two 8 piece combo meals (without drinks somehow). We were so tired of waiting and the disappointment that we just paid it and left.
I would not recommend this location or Popeyes in general to anyone at this point. Worst drive thru experience I have had in 49 years of life. Please do better for the other customers, you’ve lost 3+ today.

Read moreTruthfully I should have look at the reviews because I spent $40 for 4 items like ghost pepper wings I noticed something off about it it had some bleeding to the wings I didn’t fully eat it all . But I got a chicken sandwich was very slimy and just tasted off . After the next day of eating some of the food I felt very like off like nauseous and also just very weak sick in general. I haven’t ever got food poisoning ever when I get stuff delivered to me I haven’t bought anything online on a delivery app in a year or so I don’t recommend this place contaminated food there fryers don’t seem to work . Or something is going on to make the chicken the way it is . Because it was so soggy very off about the entire meal . And honestly I thought this location would be better but every other location in Rockford is 1.0 stars don’t go here if you want take a chance of getting completely sick . And throwing up all that truthfully I think they need to take all Popeyes locations down . Because if these locations are going to to treat their customers with disrespect and rudeness why even be in business anymore . Place is so sickening I truly believe when they are putting chicken wings even in the fryers . I know for a fact the workers are just not paying attention to the food just on there phones and I know for. A fact they most likely don’t wear gloves unless they never change there gloves and all the bacteria and germs in all over the food Popeyes is a disgrace it used to be the best and now its just so disgusting and sad how people dont put hard work in there food just sit around talk and on there phones . Just sad to see it but wouldn’t recommend this...
