VERY DISAPPOINTED & UNHAPPY
my family of five used to go to vincent's all the time so you could say we were definitely regulars. once we moved out of fox chase we haven't had the chance to stop by. well yesterday november 23rd my mom & i had to catch the fox chase train so on our way home we figured we would stop for their soup (our favorite) since you get a big bowl & we would order two slices of pizza.
when we walked in there was three or four tables that were full / already served so we figured we would be in & out. as we seated ourselves & the waitress asked if we needed a menu. we said no thank you we actually know what we want & she then took our order - two bowls of chicken noodle soup with extra crackers, two slices of plan cheese pizza, a order of cheese fires with cheese on the side & two sweetened iced teas.
after waiting the waitress brought everything out together... the two soups with one cracker for each bowl, the two plan cheese pizza & the two teas & said she would be right back with our cheese fires... we said okay & asked for more crackers. she brought us back two packs of crackers & had cheese friends with cheese on the side in her hand but she gave it to the table behind us.
the lady & her younger daughter looked surprised but proceeded to eat the fries.. i looked at my mom & said did she give our fries to the wrong table? my mom said she thought so since they were finishing up as we were seating ourselves but we understood that mistakes happen so we waited.
as we waited for our fries to eat our pizza we finished up our soup & then ate half of our slices... at that point we didn't want the fries since we were pretty much done & ready to leave. we went up to the cashier to ask for our check to pay the waitress is coming around with our fries. my mom asked if they were for sure ours & she said yes & my mom said well we're done so we don't want them & she gave us the driest look while the cashier told us the total of 15.06 ... FOR WHAT? we asked her if she charge us for the fires & she said UH NO I DIDN'T... when obviously she did but refused to give us the breakdown or a reciept
there's no way two TINY bowls of soup (since the downsized their bowls) two plan cheese pizza that had a brunt taste to them & two sugar waters aka sweetened iced teas came to $15 dollars... outrageous!
i could have gotten a family special from my local pizza shop for $18 dollars that's $3 dollars more then vincent's & that special would have been a large pie, fries, large soda & two cheese steaks! ... also you would be getting better tasting quality / great customer service.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ... YOUR TASTE BUDS & WALLET WILL THANK YOU
WE DEFINITELY...
Read moreI don't get the high ratings other than perhaps for the pizza. We dined in last night and will start with the atmosphere. There isn't any. Bright fluorescent lighting, cafeteria like tables/chairs and booths, convenience store refrigerators housing sodas and premade desserts plus a giant rack of potato chips for which the reason became apparent after ordering. The thermostat was apparently set for an uncomfortable budget friendly 80 degrees and the ceiling fans turned off with an open kitchen contributing to the warmth. We ordered two ziti dishes, one with meatballs and the other meat lovers (with pepperoni, meatball and sausage). The third order was for a Philly Steak sub. The two ziti dishes were prepared differently, the one with meatballs in a nice red sauce and the meat lovers in a brownish red sauce that tasted like burnt tomato paste and was in a word, inedible. The Philly Steak was bland with very little cheese and served with a tiny bag of chips. The place weirdly enough carries no beer or wine which are welcome elements for many who eat Italian food or pizza. Lastly they accept credit cards but you cannot leave a tip, which has to be in cash and probably explains the lousy service provided by obviously inexperienced and untrained wait staff that serves food, never checks back after food is delivered and otherwise stands around and waits for the check to be requested. We literally sat for like 10 minutes as she walked back and forth past the table without asking if everything was okay after serving, finally asking for the manager regarding the lousy ziti which was remade like the other with meatballs. Order pizza for takeout but I would highly suggest avoiding dining-in as is or exploring the remainder...
