It has been a couple of years since we have dined at your restaurant, but were reminded yesterday why we have stopped. The best part of our entire dining experience was the beer and the pretzel.

The restaurant was not crowded nor overly busy, yet we had to wait for the hostess to eventually see us waiting, she greeted us (friendly) asked us where we wanted to be seated (different approach), then said she would bring us eating utensil, that didn’t happen (apparently she forgot).

When our waiter/server finally came to the table (not very friendly). He took our order and we got the salad first and it appeared as though he was annoyed. The beer was served just moments before our entrees arrived. I believe that it takes a little longer to prepare schnitzel, but our dishes were ready in 3 to 4 minutes (flash cooking).

My wife had vegetables that were scorched and spaetzle that was warmed on the flattop grill, based on the char. My schnitzel was just shy of 3 minutes from being a shoe sole. I wondered, based on the appearance of the food, it our dishes were recycle foods.

Unfortunately, things have negatively changed from when you first opened. We have referred hundreds of our friends to the restaurant and spent thousands of dollars there until the covid-19 pandemic restrictions. However, many of our friends started to complain about the food and service.

We didn’t cancel the food order or ask for the entrees to be removed from our check, but should have. When I asked our waiter/server if Kathrin was onsite or cooking, he emphatically responded “she is never in the kitchen, she has never cooked”. When I mentioned that she did when I first met her, he stated that it must have been five years ago (displaying a bad attitude).

However, to conclude this matter, we paid our check and tipped the server despite the subpar service and poor customer service. Based on this most recent experience we can no longer endorse or patronize your establishment. We regret having spent $96.00 for such a bad experience. I believe that you can do better and serve authentic German foods, prepared with high...

We will be back !! This place is truly a hidden gem was the first time for me but my BF is a regular & I'm so glad he recommended we go!! From the atmosphere to the music to the staff everything here was on point. Owner is so sweet and has a great area set up for kids games and books. There is a pool table separated from the dinning room nice sized bar and lots of seating inside and out. The patio seating is really nice as well has plenty of shade. I had the chicken Jägerschnitzel it might be one of the best things I've eaten in my life TBH !! Veggies were cooked to perfection (not mush like I usually end up with) the gravy was perfect and don't get me started on the sausages my BF ordered on the sausage platter fest. All 3 were cooked right had that snap when you bite in !! Textures and flavors were outta this world good. I not a big fan of trying new things 😂 but im truly shocked that a bit of GREAT mustard with some sauerkraut on bread with a good sausage could be such a good pairing. I would NEVER have tried sauerkraut if things weren't tasting great to begin with and I'm really glad I did open my horizons a bit to some truly authentic German food. Had a really good beer imported from Germany the stiens are huge here as well!! Restrooms were clean and well stocked. I'm not big on eating out at the chain restaurants we tend to see here in US so I'm very happy to find & support a one of a kind spot like this! I'm definitely trying a jalapeno cheese pretzel...

Hands down the worst restaurant experience I have had in years. Sign said "seat yourself" so we did. Once seated, we waited for 15 minutes trying to flag down one of the 3 waiters working our section. None came. Had to bus our own table and get our own menus, ( table never was wiped down). Finally flagged a waiter down, He made a big deal about not making us wait any longer and that our pitcher would be right out. 15 minutes later I see our pitcher sitting warming on the bar and go to get it. The bar tender ignored me and then suddenly decided to bring the pitcher out when I asked about it. He was very rude. Food was passable but meat was tough and over priced. Had to ask for water 3+ times. We ordered one more round at the end of our meal as we were catching up with a friend and did not want to find another place to go. Dime sized bit of food (?) floating in the beer. Asked for bill; they added an extra beer to our tab that we did not order and had to ask for it to be removed. Will not visit again; would not recommend. I will be steering friends and family away from this place. I really wanted to like it and after each thing went wrong I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt that they were having an off night. It all added up to: staff who did not care, a rude bartender, so-so expensive food, heath code violations,...

If you’re looking for an authentic German Biergarten experience, Kathrin’s Biergarten in Rocklin is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted by a warm and welcoming staff that truly sets the bar high. The service here is top-notch—friendly, efficient, and always ready to recommend something off their extensive menu or help you find the perfect beer pairing. Speaking of beer, the selection at Kathrin’s is phenomenal. Whether you’re a fan of light, crisp pilsners or something a little more robust, like a dark, malty Dunkel, you’ll find it all here. The variety is impressive, and you can tell that a lot of thought went into curating the options to suit every taste. The food? Absolutely awesome. Traditional German dishes like schnitzels, sausages, and pretzels are prepared with care, and every bite feels like a trip to Bavaria. The portions are generous, and the flavors are spot on. Whether you’re there for a full meal or just a snack to go with your beer, you won’t leave disappointed. Overall, Kathrin’s Biergarten offers an experience that is equal parts fun and delicious. The combination of excellent service, great food, and an unbeatable beer selection makes this spot stand out. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a taste of Germany in the heart of Rocklin!

Incredibly happy to see that they have a dog friendly patio! We visited Kathrin's Biergarten on a Saturday night for European style drinks and dinning (complete with drag racing on the TV) and sat in front of the bar, a soft glow from the string of pub lights reflecting off the large wooden high top table. The awesome bartender was kind enough to help us with our indecisiveness, we knew we wanted flights, but he created the best variety (attaching for anyone else who needs help too, haha) and came over to make sure we enjoyed them. Kathrin herself even graced our table during our friends' first visit to talk about the dishes from her homeland and the best way to enjoy them-she is so sweet and friendly! Our table shared a big ol pretzel (they sell even bigger than pictured!) with beer cheese and mustard, and by the time we were feeling our drinks, we forgot to get photos of the smoked beef sausage, schnitzel, pork Jägerschnitzel in mushroom gravy, fries, Spätzle, cheesey Spätzle baked in beer cheese and topped with bacon, and apfelstrudel with vanilla ice cream and Beehive cake "Bienenstich" filled with vanilla cream and topped with a honey almond brittle. Can't wait to go back for more!
