I'll start first that I've been waiting to see what this place would be like. Use the drive thru if yer in a hurry..six cars in line and all gone when I walked out. DIsappointing is what I got. The food is the same as Adelbertos 100 yards away and overpriced for what you get for sure. I read the rest of the menu and if I'd known they have fries on the menu I would have known what I was in for. I went first to their web page before I arrived. Web says $1.99 taco wednesday; however the menu inside says tacos special on wednesdays $2.25..who cares, right? But how you gunna not have a special taco price at "Taco Express" on opening day?? Lol..not one opening day special ( I get they have 2 other locations, but this is new spot). There was barely any meat and cheese and a lot of lettuce. Tacos looked like something from Jack n the box (deep fried). Rice was typical..beans were canned im sure (im adding pictures). Tacos not the best in my personal opinion. Also ordered the Asada Burrito which was good but nothing to write home about. Had good meat n beans and was a decent size for damn $8 Hard to tell you about the interior as I've know this place to be a bank and pizza parlor..but they had Mexican music on but it was drowned out by 2 tvs at either end of the dinning area, so you heard 3 things at once..there is a salsa bar which thanks to covid isn't open yet (p.s no chips come with yer meal) Staff up front seemed friendly and best part of my trip. I'm adding pictures of meal as well as receipt...p.p.s. .60 cents to use yer card7

If you're looking for a delicious and satisfying lunch spot in Rocklin, CA, then Taco Exxpress is definitely worth a visit. I recently stopped in for lunch and was blown away by the quality of their food and service. The breakfast burrito I had was nothing short of amazing. It was packed full of flavorful ingredients and cooked to perfection. I loved the combination of eggs, cheese, and potatoes, and the addition of the savory meats was a great touch. It was so delicious that I even thought about ordering another one! But what really stood out to me about Taco Exxpress was their salsa bar. They had a variety of salsas to choose from, each one more delicious than the last. I loved being able to customize my burrito with different salsas and toppings to make it exactly how I wanted it. The salsa bar truly added a special touch to the dining experience. And let's not forget about the friendly service. The staff at Taco Exxpress were so welcoming and accommodating. They made sure I had everything I needed and were happy to answer any questions I had. It was clear that they take pride in their work and care about their customers. Overall, I highly recommend Taco Exxpress to anyone in the Rocklin area looking for a delicious lunch spot. With amazing food, a fantastic salsa bar, and friendly service, it's definitely a place I look forward to returning to soon.

They.charged me $1.00 for onions on a side of beans and $1.20 for cilantro. Ridiculous! Came through the drive thru last night to get some food to bring home after work. Wow, so glad I did! I got a simple bean and cheese burrito because I judge a place on their beans. I'm a bean freak and oh boy, these refried beans are the best! Perfectly spiced and delicious. Got a carnitas burrito for my kid. That was absolutely delicious too. The sauce cups are delicious. Both red and green sauce. Looking forward to trying more things off the menu. Drive thru service was quick and friendly. Agua fresca pina was delicious. Now I am hungry again! Nice looking outdoor patio area to dine in also. Burritos big enough for 2 meals! New favorite place!

I really wanted to like this place.

Ordered a super burrito with asada and carnitas, and an al pastor street taco. I wanted to try some meats and see how their burritos and tacos stacked up.

Sadly, all three meats were disappointing. They tasted like they'd been sitting in a bucket of broth for hours - soggy, with thinned out flavor.

The al pastor was probably the only passable one of the three. Perhaps throw it on the griddle to caramelize it some...

The "asada" was the worst - overcooked, tough, not seared at all but scooped up from a bucket. Tasted nothing like real asada. Just a slightly thicker gravy and we have dog food. Sorry that's a bit rough (npi), but it really was that bad.

The "carnitas" were somewhere in the middle.

As for the burrito itself - the first half was nothing but rice and melted cheese, with an occasional piece of "carnitas." Only half way did I get the first hint of sour cream. ALL of the "asada" was massed together in the bottom 1/4 of the burrito. Since it was the worst meat, it just made the finish that much more sad.

The street taco was the only saving grace, such that it was. At least the al pastor was a loose approximation of real al pastor. And they didn't go overboard on the add-ins - onions and cilantro... as it should be.

Like I said... I really wanted to like this place, so this makes me sad. The person at the drive-through was...
