Went to The Brass Tap last night for the first time and for my wife's early birthday celebration.
A few highlights: Service and ambiance are fantastic, especially if you love sports. Service truly was the hero, but more on other good stuff and opportunities to come.
Drinks - My wife had a nice Chardonnay and I enjoyed one of the many fantastic brews on draft and in bottle. A small nit pick would be if you arrive during happy hour and last drinks just served outside of happy hour, as it was busy, let's not upcharge as if we arrived after happy hour ended.
Food - We ordered a small appetizer of loaded crinkle cut fries. If you don't like sour cream, make sure to ask for it to be left off, but bacon, cheese, and fries together were awesome. The Mrs asked for sliced jalapeños on top and wouldn't you know, they were freshly cut vs jar bought. Kudos and truly made the difference.
We moved into dinner and it didn't miss, in fact, my wife's soft tacos and my flat bread option were both very good. With the soft tacos, the chips and salsa (nice kick) were spot on!!
Not looking for an area to critique, but the restaurant could use some detail on the walls and a revamp of the falling apart and extremely dirty menus, but the outstanding service with a smile won over the visit.
Guess one last thing I would mention, as I overheard one employee try to explain the best they could do was window tint doing very little to step setting sun from blinding so many, would be to but rollable shades on all windows.
I thank you for making the dinner enjoyable for my wife and the birthday wishes, right after we paid, were a special...
Read moreSaw a Groupon and thought we would give it a try. Reviewed the menu on Google prior to purchasing the Groupon. Good beer selection, however upon looking at the printed menu the $15 guacamole burger is actually $19.00. Comes with flavorless fries. Purchased the Shareable Brussels sprouts, also no flavor but drenched in oil. I think I made the mistake of asking if the server needed to know I had a Groupon. We received the food, with zero plates. Had to ask for a plate as to not want to eat out of a basket. Note the table across from us had plates and napkins and they hadn’t ordered yet. We each were given one small napkin. Burger is 6 oz according to the receipt, a frozen burger patty from Sam’s Club - not Costco. No seasonings. Menu does not mention it is basically a 1/3 of a pound after it is cooked. Server smiles but does not check on you and I had to go to the bar to request tab. A burger, Brussels sprouts and two of their $5 beers and you leave hungry. After Groupon, bill was $17, take into account the Groupon - definitely very disappointed. Keep in mind the place is very empty. I will say the music is good. Unfortunately, I will never purchase a Groupon again. I frequent the the area and was hoping this would be a place I...
Read moreWe went here a few weeks ago on a Wednesday evening. The service was extremely slow; it took a half hour between menus being dropped off and being able to order drinks. For 2 adults and 1 kid to eat, we were there for 2 hours because everything took so long!
Last week, we decided to give the benefit of the doubt and try again before our movie reservations. Again, the service was extremely slow. My husband and 2 friends got their dinner about 20 minutes before I did, and when it came it was the completely wrong order. I finally got the correct order about 30 minutes before we had to check in for our movie, and we gave ourselves 2 hours based on our last experience. There was no apology given. We got our own napkins and silverware from the station by the patio door. My husband and his friend declined ordering a final drink because we weren't confident they'd get it before we had to leave. The table next to us was also complaining because their group of three had been there for 3 hours and they still didn't have everything they needed. I don't know if they're dealing with new staff or what, but they're operating like they just opened when they've been there for awhile.
We most likely will not be...
