Oki Sushi — Restaurant in Rocklin

Edit from Sept 2022: we visited again after our last experience and enjoyed ourselves a lot more. The new waitresses were super friendly and attentive. And the cooks knocked it out of the park, per usual. Hoping last time was just a fluke!

I work nearby so I frequent this place a lot. I suggested it to my boyfriend and now we have dinner here all the time as well. It is our favorite sushi place and we always have a great experience. Until today. I decided to try the Bento Box for $18 instead of the roll I usually get. I explicitly asked for that and chose my 2 items. The food was absolutely delicious.

When we get our check, I notice that the total is off. We double checked the menu to compare the prices to what I ordered. My boyfriend mentions this to the waitress stating that I had ordered a Bento Box. She comes back and tells us her manager said she couldn't do that because of portions. It just felt like the manager thought my boyfriend and I were trying to be sneaky or cheap. Apparently the original waiter charged me for a Teriyaki Plate and a roll separately (not what I ordered) which was more expensive. We left feeling a bit cheated because it was a mistake on the waiters part and WE were the ones that had to pay for it, literally. 😔

It wasn't a huge difference, but my boyfriend and I both work in customer service so it was more about the principle for us. We would have appreciated the manager coming over to talk to us. We will most likely return because the chefs always do a great job, but we didn't enjoy...

A friend and I decided to try this place due to the proximity to Walmart, and the restaurant we were planning on going to being closed between menu resets(lunch to dinner). Everything from the food, to the service, to the cozy laid back atmosphere was amazing! I've been trying to become more acclimated to sushi, especially stuff that isn't a basic salmon or tuna roll, and the BTS roll was just what I needed to get there. The menu is by and large Japanese cuisine as one might expect, but the bulgogi beef was a fun surprise and it gave me a chance to try something new that I've been wanting to get at. We ordered rather aggressively for a party of two because everything looked so good, so our bill was just over $100, but if you're just ordering for one or two and not going crazy like we did it is very reasonably priced.

I will definitely be coming back in the future and singing their praises, and if you're in the area looking for a good sushi spot or quality Japanese food I highly recommend giving...

We just happened on this place while up shopping in Rocklin and decided to try a new sushi spot. It's a small restaurant so be aware there may be a wait but we still came in on a Sat night and we're seated in 5-10 minutes. Our waitress was very sweet and friendly. The fish was fresh and had great flavor. We were pleasantly surprised and very happy with our food. We got the Kings roll and the Galleria and they were both delicious. I can't remember which one was the deep fried roll but I almost lost it when I took a bite of the deep fried one. Great flavor and the sauce is amazing. Our Sashimi had great flavor and came served over ice which I've never had and really liked. Hands down some of the best quality sushi I've had in the Sacramento area and our server was just so sweet and friendly. We will definitely be making...
