Shelleys — Restaurant in Rockport

Great food, staff is entertaining and my kids loved their food. We try to get them to try new foods each time we go to a restaurant and they were fighting over the last bites of fried calamari -- Mom, win! The appetizer platter is a good idea, we had the calamari, green beans and gator balls. The gator balls are like gator boudin and were uniquely yummy, gbeans were great with ranch! We had a bad blackened catfish situation the day before, but Shelley and the crew redeemed it! Glad to have real people serving real food! We'll be back next summer! ...

So glad we decided to try this place while on our weekend getaway, the resturant itself is on the smaller side so we opted for a to-go order! (I am also antisocial) This mom&pop style place was worth every penny, plus I tried something I never had before- Gator! Yum. Dang that blackened red fish was delicious!! Crabby Mommy was scrumptious as well, out of the potatoes we preferred the sweet potato fries but of course thats a preference. I love this place. The owners are wonderful as is the wait staff as well. My favorites so far are the chicken fried steak and oh those cheeseburgers. I am always looking for a good, juicy cheeseburger made with real meat and not a frozen patty. Well, I don't have to look anymore. The atmoshere is very comfortable and casual. The price is great and the food so far has been fantastic. I would highly recommend this place...
