We bought a 2015 Salem villa estate, made by Forest River, in May of 2014. We have had many problems from air conditioners leaking on a kitchen floor on the bed, large puddles. Dragging closets main water line leaking under the bedroom closet , CD player stopped working, broken bathroom faucet, peeling kitchen faucet. Light units burning out, fancy LED lighting under the awning no longer works, outside light unit above front glass doors has burnt out again, water dripping right down our front doors because the awning is sewn and rainwater and air conditioner run off was coming right through the holes where it is sewn in the awning. When we signed the papers on the purchase we were told, after our request, that they would put in a handicap toilet. They could not find a handicap toilet to fit in the area so they made a 18 by 18 box to go under the existing toilet. This was very hazardous with the very limited space in the bathroom, causing tripping and stubbing of toes. We told them it was unacceptable and they remove the carpeted box from under the toilet. Many visits by the service repair man to stop the leaking from the air conditioners and it never stop until they replace them with new ones and May of 2015, a year after our purchase. We later found out from Forest River that the air conditioners were recalled. Camper clinic made it sound like they were doing us a favor by replacing the leaking air conditioners. After the air conditioners were replaced in May of 2015 there was no more dripping on the kitchen floor or bed. After the air conditioner was replaced in the bedroom area we had leaks in the ceiling everytime it rains we spoke with camper clinic and is service man came out. After the second service call he told us there was a cut a slit in the roof right by the air conditioner. We believed it was caused from the installation of that said air conditioner. They called us and told us that we owed them over $200 to patch the holes. My husband and I, again, visited with Thad Carrothers. By now I am really upset. My husband sent him copies of all the letters of our complaints and problems that we had. In return he has written to us and told us that we need to find someone else to service are RV, they will no longer do business with us. We have been in touch with Forest River and they have extended warranty until May 2016. to us if you are going to sell these units, you need to back them up with service calls needed. it is not our fault that a beautiful Salem Village estate has had problems...
Read moreWe made an appointment to bring our motorhome in for an engine service, generator service, A/C service, and a water sensor issue. We were told that they would need about 2 weeks to get it in. We didn't hear anything from them for about 3 weeks, when they called to ask us how to read the amount of water in the holding tank (something an rv service shop should already know). Another week goes by and we stopped by the shop to check on the motorhome and were told it should be done in the next few days. Another week goes by and we get a text that a new tech was taking over the job and would be in touch. A few more days pass and we told the shop we needed to have the unit back because it had been there for 32 days and we have a trip coming up. When we picked up the motorhome we were told the fresh water tank sensor had a wire loose and was fixed. We were told the a/c's had been serviced and coils were cleaned. The engine's oil had been changed and the generator had been serviced with an oil change. We had requested another service but do to the amount if time the motorhome had been there, we canceled anything else. We paid over $1600.00 for the services provided. We get the motorhome back home (7 mile drive), and we start to check the work. We checked the engine and find that no filters have been changed and that the oil was very black, like the oil did not get changed. Next we look at the generator, first thing we noticed is that the filters have not been changed. Second, we pull the oil dipstick and there is no oil in generator. When we checked the A/C units, the filters were dirty and one A/C was not working. They had not been serviced either. Our motorhome spent 32 days at the shop and the only thing that was done was fixing a loose wire. At this point we called Blue Compass and asked to speak with the service manager. The manager was unavailable and we left a message. We then called the corporate office and left a message as well. About an hour later the service manager in Rockport returned our call. He was very apologetic and gave us the option to return the motorhome or get a full refund. We choose to get a full refund because we could not trust the shop would do the work and we do not have another 32 days to wait. We never received a return call from corporate. We will never use Blue Compass again. We own an RV park in the area and we will never ever recommended Blue Compass to our guests or...
Read moreI was debating on how to leave this review. I am extremely disappointed with my purchase. The sales person Sean told me that my little guy Max that I bought would be detailed. I waited four days for delivery of this RV and I thought in my mind because they’re detailing it is gonna look super great. That was not the case at all. It sat on the lot for three more days as I drove by and saw it there since I live local and then they threw it in at the last minute, barely cleaned it and presented it to me the next day. Not to mention Joshua the manager had given me a different price when I first saw the little guy Max and then he raised the price $2000 when I came back. Now let’s talk about the warranty so they try to sell you a warranty called RV Complete. I’ve been on the phone for almost 2 hours this morning. Trying to get a minor repair done to the outdoor shower that’s not working and I just bought the RV three weeks ago. RV Complete is a joke they transfer you around to about eight different departments and back to the same departments when they don’t have the answer and it is just a complete hassle and headache. I do not recommend anyone buying their extended warranty. I am asking for a refund on mine and getting a Refund on all of it and will be looking for another less stressful place to get warranty work done without all that stress. Joshua responded to me. Oh if I want to bring it back in for a detail I could and I think he was gonna charge me. I was like seriously like I just wanted y’all to do what you said you were gonna do anyways, I do not recommend buying from Blue compass at all at all...
