A jewel in the local Rockville Center area. The food is tasty, prepared fresh, and served with a friendly attitude.
One of the things I have struggled to find in Rockville Town Center area has been a place that didnt feel like a corporate entity found at the local mall.
Al Carbon stands out.
As soon as I walked in, the staff greeted me and offered a seat and a menu. As I sat down they suggested trying the guava juice, which was refreshing and delicious. Not having tried their food before, I looked at the menu, but settled on asking the server for direction.
She broke into a smile at the question and offered the carne tacos were the day's special and are great. No fooling around, these werent coming out of a bin. Fresh made from the grill, the cook wandered between stations preparing the meal. Slicing up the avocado in the palm of his hand.
While I was waiting, I took the time to look around and observe the photo array of menu items posted on the walls - Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner. The staff chatted and laughed behind the counter which gave it a sense of family, even if it isn't.
Others have commented on the decor, and I loved it. Simple, reminds me of the best holes in the wall on the interior of many of my favorite cities. A loving warmth and well worn veneer. As I peered behind the counter, a wood fired grill smoldered, logs laying on the floor below it.
The tacos came out hot with a scent of beef on corn tortilla. I tried the first one naked, without hot sauce. It was fantastic - homey with the integrity of flavor you wont find at a fast serve joint. Portions are hearty and the food exactly what you are looking for if you have diverted from the clone restaurant zone on the other side of the tracks.
Worth the visit. I'll be going back for cold beers and another meal on the patio once it warms...
Read more(Brand New Episode) (Central Latin Community Edition ) Okay, it quite impressive to be in the part where the event arrives. In fact, it one of the best restaurants in this town. Everything else is awesome, the service too. Dedicated moment ….. Alright l, in the transfer point of service. One salesman suggested a friend and I to switch to a different public event where they have restrooms. In enter the service, they got normal stuff there. He gave a $ dollar to her, she gave him a key 🔑 for it, and then he got it. Huh. It’s quite limited that they lock it in order secure the restrooms for entry when customers try to use it for convenience. However, in order to use, he, she, they must pay at least one dollar to use it. After the very cheap payment, she give customers, guest, visitors, participants the key for it. The Saale goes to you . If you want restrooms which is simple to use it for free without payment. Take it somewhere else, transfer the different services that is many times possible than this one. This doesn’t sound or appear to be convenient for a moment, do not go there. Also they have great food in dining in service. Cuisines represent from Democratic Republic Constitution of Nicaragua,...
Read moreAlways in search of good South of the border food I visited this Tex-Mex restaurant as the suggestion from another foodie I was with.
As we were walking through the parking lot there appeared to be a karaoke singer entertaining the patrons in the restaurant. It turns out that there was a very large party being hosted there for a birthday celebration.
I'm not too sure if the live entertainment was there for the celebration or that's something that they do every Saturday night.
The food was good and the atmosphere was appropriate to the food.
The party took up more than 2/3 of the dining area in celebration and the music was very loud, almost distractingly loud.
I had the steak tacos and they were very tasty but the beans were quite interesting to say the least. The rice would be a traditional Tex-Mex rice and not a Spanish rice.
Nonetheless it was worth the trip and when I go back I will make sure when I'm walking through the parking lot that there is not a singer entertaining the restaurant patrons
So if you like good Tex-Mex and you're in to Gaithersburg area stop by and give him a shot, and apparently there's more than...
